People always ask how my horses have gotten to the point theyll go over and around anything i point them towards! It starts like this; use the trail as a learning opportunity! Anytime you come across a spot you could do something with… do it!! Start small with simply walking your horse over sticks and branches, vearing off the path, walking through puddles! you and your horse will grow from there!

I love a good transformation!
When this lil mare first came to me she had been ridden outside “once or twice” in her life. She was fearful and anxious about every little thing when working outdoors, lacked focus and wouldn’t give any signs of release! Through out my program we worked on building her confidence and learning to relax outside an arena. By the end of her 90 day stay, we were hitting all kinds of trails with a calm and focused mindset and overcoming obstacles at every turn! Im so excited to see this gal thrive in her new home!

Love when the first ride goes this smooth! A solid foundation will do wonders for a solid start on one!
Not really, I love my job lol

Well that worked out conveniently!

This lil mare is a prime example, she is too anxious and nervous of her surroundings at all times to focus, release or relax. So it’s my job to teach her how!

This year has been a good one! Here’s to the horses that made it that way!!
Always bittersweet sending a training horse home 🥰 but here is just a little bit of the fun I had with Guinness!
Things you gotta learn when you’re going home to a short owner😝
Help your horse find the fun in obstacles and this is what plays in their head lol! #horses #horsetraining #horsemanship #cowgirl #cowboy #painthorse
At the end of an exercise, in the saddle or on the ground, I’m looking for my horse to give me signals that indicate
A. I understand what you asked
B. I’m processing the answer and
C. I’m ready for you to ask the next question
You can see in this video, peach is giving me multiple signals to tell me these things.
Can you spot some of the signals in the comments??
Behind the scenes!
This right here is a prime example of some of the work that goes into my training horses that may seem small or even go unnoticed, but is a big deal to me.
We’ve all been scooping stalls and accidentally bumped into our horses with our bodies, picks, or muck buckets. It happens! However this response, Artemis is giving us a fine example of, is not ok! This can turn an innocent mistake into a trip to the hospital! so during chores I gently touch horses here there and everywhere, to make sure in their future, everyone who comes in contact with them is safe:) happy Monday!
I can teach the horses to not be bothered by highways… but how do I teach myself??
Raj, has been in training for 4 weeks now, and is being exposed to all kinds of things!
Road to the Horse did not disappoint! Such a fun weekend!
