How does feeding our roaches work? 🍌🍊🍉🍐 Well, I just got home with this week's produce pickup - we currently go through almost 1,000lbs of fresh produce each month. Once or twice a week, I head out to pick up landfill-destined produce from grocery stores I have arrangements with. I bring it home, sort, wash, unpack, and fridge/freeze everything I can. That's usually ~6hr of work per pickup. We recycle all of the packaging that we can, and produce we can't find a use for goes into compost. Our roaches eat well!

Sometimes people get upset to know that so much food is thrown away. It is a HUGE problem. Every grocery store, every day. We do what we can, but more people need to embrace being dumpster raccoons like me and find ways to use our existing resources more sustainably. ❤

Not much cuter than rats using each other as pillows. 😭😍 They're the sweetest boys.
