🌼 Did you know that when the seasons change so does your dogs coat? Those double coated breeds (Huskies, Aussies, Shepherds,etc.) start to shed more due to the cold to heat transition. Their grooming needs include removing their thick undercoat so their skin can breathe and their new slimmer coat can prepare to protect them from the heat versus the cold. Not removing the undercoat can cause medical issues and can lead to skin irritations, baldness and spotting, dandruff build up, and severe matting. These breed types should also never be shaved! It can throw off how they regulate their internal body temperature and damage or ruin their natural coat making it harder for the coat to do its job in the future.

❄️Depending on what the weather does we may contact you to reschedule. We want to keep people safe and off the roads if necessary so our amazing Omaha plows can do their jobs to the best of their ability. We are also 1) not in control of when our parking lot gets treated and plowed and 2) have to be at the shop a half hour before appointments start and stay later to clean up. While YOU may be fine to drive to your appointment, please think of others and know that if we reschedule it’s in the best interest for everyone’s safety! We promise to get your pup back into see us as soon as possible!

🐕 🧑‍🦯 Wednesday is Seeing Eye Dog Anniversary Day! We will be honoring seeing eye dogs and the people that help make the training possible through our retail purchases and donations.
This week when you make a retail purchase, 10% will be donated to The Seeing Eye Organization.
Their non profit organization is doing amazing things! These dedicated individuals help provide services for those in need of a seeing eye assistance dog, they serve as a hub for families who can help raise seeing eye dogs, they provide an array of educational resources, and connect communities with events and volunteer opportunities. You can even download their app TSE for free for current US and Canada laws for those with assistance animals as well as teaching materials for the classroom advocacy and awareness. This Friday is National Change A Pet’s Life Day. You can make a difference by doing the following:

🏠 Foster: take in a pet until they can find their forever home. Many rescues offer this and some encourage you to be a foster before considering to fully adopt.
🐶 Adopt/Rescue: save a pets life and many more when you adopt from a rescue or shelter and make a new pet a part of your furrever family.
🫶🏻Volunteer: lend a hand at local shelters to put packages together, hand out supplies or visit and spend some time with pets at your local shelters if you can’t foster or adopt.
💵 Donate- consider donating to pet shelters, emergency relief causes, and those helping aid pets who are lost or injured in California. The wild fires have cause many pets to go missing, separated or injured and every little bit helps!
