Winter with pets can feel a bit like indoor recess 😂 Activities that activate more senses can help your dog workout their mind and burn some of that boredom energy and give you some time to curl up and read a good book.

- Activate their nose with a snuffle mat, puzzle toy, or even just scattering some food on the floor or even in the snow!
- Work their mind with some light training. Not only does this show off your pet's brilliance, it also increases the bond you have with your pet! Cats love training too!
- Lick mats, stuffed Kongs, and dental chews are a great way to stimulate their mind and keep them focused, in turn alleviating stress and they get a tasty treat!

With colder weather during January, we want to make sure you're pet is prepared to enjoy the snow and still stay active (if that's what they choose 😂) Proper attire can be beneficial, especially for our smaller pups or pups with little fur.

- Booties are a crucial item to protect their paws from ice, salt, and clumping snow. There are multiple options for all types of pets, from standard booties to suspenders (for those pups who play too hard and kick the boots off)
- Coats are helpful for those more active and outdoor pets who would want nothing but to go for walks all day
- Drier weather increases dehydration, so make sure your pet stays hydrated outdoors and indoors
- If booties are not an option for your pup, try paw balm! This can help rehydrate their paw pads to prevent cracking and discomfort.

Puppy visits can be so much fun! They can also be a little overwhelming and unpredictable for some pups. Help your first visit be positive and exciting by coming prepared! Peek at our new patient, Sabina, who is reaching for her favorite treat 😃

Here's a basic list of what to bring:
- Their favorite toy or blanket
- Some treats that they love
- All paperwork that you have on them (especially vaccine history)
- A list of questions you have for your veterinarian

Is your pet food or toy motivated? Bringing treats and/or toys that they love along with you to your appointment can help to create a positive experience with vet visits. We also offer various treats, such as lean treats, but bringing treats that you know they love aids in a smoother and happy vet visit!
