What does a “10” for Harmony Score mean? In WDAA tests, Harmony between horse and rider is scored as a double coefficient and defined as, “The horse accepts the aids and influence of the rider with attention, relaxation, and confidence; and demonstrates a willing partnership between horse and rider resulting in a free-flowing performance.”
I can’t think of a nicer compliment than to receive a ten on this score! Congrats to this wonder team (Kathy and E) and here’s to continuing to hold our standards high in kind training at home ☺️ PS take a look at those winnings!

The Dressage Foundation is pleased to announce Jane Fucinaro (NE) as the recipient of the $5,000 Team Tate Mentorship and Leadership Fund Grant for 2024.

The Fund, established by the Tate family in 2020, provides financial assistance to dressage professionals to further their business, leadership, and riding skills.

Jane is a United States Dressage Federation (USDF) Certified Instructor, a USDF “L” Program graduate with distinction, and a longtime volunteer for the Nebraska Dressage Association. Jane will use the grant to work with her mentor, Sarah Martin, for a month-long intensive training, and to take part in a ten-week Resilience Mindset Training program with TEDx speaker, Jamie Haith.

Jane said, “I am honored to be chosen as the recipient of TDF’s Team Tate Mentorship and Leadership Grant. It is an achievement that has been earned with years of hard work, but also through the guidance and dedication of my mentors, clients, family, and friends, which truly embodies the meaning behind the donor’s vision of this grant. The equestrian business presents many challenges, specifically for me as a new mom, finding a balance between horses, business, and family. I look forward to developing new skills in both my riding and business management, running my business with integrity, and developing horses that are happy to participate in the sport. Thank you to TDF and all the donors for their generous support.”

The goal of the Team Tate Mentorship and Leadership Fund is to provide grants of up to $5,000 for dressage professionals, age 25 and over, to receive business, leadership, or personal coaching education, and to work with their dressage mentors to improve equestrian skills. A reminder that grumpiness is not a personality trait, but a sign of a horse needing mental and physical balance.

Neurosis is not who your horse is, anymore than anxiety is who you inherently are- it is an imbalance requiring attention. The underlying horse is what nature made, the behaviors are what people made.

TRAINING AND LESSONS: Jane provides groundwork lessons, riding lessons and training sessions for all riders and horses with an emphasis in dressage training. Jane is a USDF Bronze Medalist and is undergoing the USDF Instructor/Trainer Program for Training Level-First Level Dressage.

EQUINE BODYWORK: Jane is currently undergoing the Advanced Training Phase of the Masterson Method Integrated Equine Performance Bodywork. Please visit the website for more details or to schedule and appointment. Jane is now accepting Case Studies while she goes through her certification!
