🚨🐾 Beware of Summer Pests! 🐾🚨

Ticks and mosquitoes are more active during the summer months, posing serious risks to your pets. These little pests can transmit tick-bourne disease(Lyme/Rock Mountain spotted fever, etc.) and heartworm disease. Protect your furry friends by ensuring they are on a year-round preventatives for fleas, ticks, and heartworm.

We have already pulled SO many of these little buggers off patients this year!

Give the clinic a call for more information about flea/tick/heartworm prevention and tips for keeping your furry friends safe!

Hey there! If you've been in the clinic recently you may have noticed a new addition next to the trivia board we started a few weeks ago at the check out desk.

This is Marvin! Marvin really really loved his tennis balls. In his memory, Marvin's lovely family donated this bin of tennis balls for clients to give to their pups!

So, if you happen to stop by for an appointment over the next week or two please feel free to take a ball for your pup in memory of Mr. Marvin. We would like to send our deepest condolences and a huge thank you to Marvin's family for sharing one of his favorite toys with our Fort Street family.

This afternoon the clinic will be temporarily closed for a staff meeting from 1:30pm to 3:00pm. We will reopen from 3:00pm to 5:30pm.

Natural Disaster Relief Fund

We here at Fort Street Veterinarian wanted to help make a meaningful difference in the lives of families and pets affected by the recent Tornados.
We understand that these are challenging times, and the impact of natural disasters can be devasting. That’s why we’ve initiated a disaster relief fund to support the community in providing much-needed supplies to those in need.
You can contribute to this cause in two simple ways:
1. Round Up Your Invoice: If you’re willing, you can round up your invoice or bill to the nearest dollar. Every cent makes a difference and goes directly to supporting relief efforts.
2. Direct Donation: If you prefer, you can make a direct donation to our disaster relief fund. Any amount, no matter how big or small, will go a long way in providing essential supplies to affected families and their beloved pets.
Your generosity can bring comfort and relief to those facing hardship. If you’d like to participate, please let our staff know during your visit, or call the clinic at 402-884-3383 and we’ll be happy to assist you.
*All funds will be delivered to COPE in Elkhorn who are currently working with the families affected.

Happy Friday! LVT Jen brought her cat, Stevie, in to see Dr. Smith for a check up on the same day that fabulous cat mom Alecia brought her cat Ray Charles in! Both cats were born with micropthalmia, which means their eyes did not fully develop in the womb. Both kitties LOVE their mamas! 😘

We ❤ Axel, and he loves our hugs! We always look forward to seeing this very good boy! Axel visits us every month for lab work and important medication to keep him healthy.

🐾Another cheesy moment at Fort Street Vet! Little Rocky the Pug has a broken leg, but he didn't mind getting his bandaged changed -- he just wanted CHEESE! 😍

Most of you know Dr. Busselman, and we are very thankful that we get to see him still from time to time and keep in contact. Well right before Christmas we were blessed with new surgical lights at the clinic. Because Dr. Busselman is still such a light in our lives, Dr. Tordrup delivered one of our old lights to Doc’s front doorstep as a little Christmas present from us to him. 😂 He’s such a good sport! 😂

Rosie is the sweetest! She visited us for her 1st appointment recently. Welcome to the Fort Street family!

Nala says, "Hi!" This friendly Rottweiler visited us for her wellness exam. She gave lots of kisses and snuggles, and loved the treats LVT Samuel gave her!

Assistant Liz got some snuggles from sweet Minerva! Minerva came for the snuggles (of course) & also to have her spay pre-anesthetic lab work drawn. Pre-anesthetic lab work helps ensure that our patients are well enough to be anesthetized. The lab results also allow our doctors to tailor each patient's anesthetic plan to that individual patient.

We're always excited to learn how we can continue to provide the best care for our patients. We will be closing early today at 4 p.m. for our monthly training and team meeting. It has been crazy busy over this summer as anyone who has been in lately can contest by the number of people in the lobby. I thought I would share a video of a room I did a while back. Twenty two pups all the same age from 2 moms. Talk about crazy.
