Life Skills: Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. starting on January 14th . Taught by Val Poulton & Julie Larson

Wednesday nights starting on January 14th:
CGC prep class at 5:00 pm. Taught by Nancy Cannon and myself. The CGC test will be administered on the Wednesday following the last class. Below is the link to information on the CGC test. This class & test is open to pure bred & mixed breed dogs. The class will help to prepare you for the test but for those not necessarily interested in taking the CGC test, the class is also a manners class concentrating on exercises to help you with every day life with your dog.

We have some spots available for the beginning and Advanced Agility foundations class on Sunday. The advanced class starts this Sunday at 1 PM, and the Beginning class starts on 1/18 at 10:30 AM. Dogs must have had some prior obedience training, can work around other dogs without being reactive, and should be at least 6 months old.

Update: Due to unforeseen circumstances, we are cancelling the FETCH tests. If you sent an entry, your check will be shredded. Watch for information on our spring tests!

Go Dogs will be hosting an AKC FETCH test at the conclusion of our CPE agility trials on January 2 (Novice and Intermediate ) and January 3 (Advanced & Retriever) indoors at the Gretna Sports Complex, 10550 S 222nd St, Gretna, NE 68028. Premium list below.

Thank you to everyone who helped load the truck, volunteered during the weekend, brought food, and helped to load the truck at OSC & unload back at the garage. Our agility trials help us to pay the bills and we could not do them without our volunteers!

We will be finished early today at Omaha Sports Complex. We will need help breaking down rings and loading the truck around 2. I will send another message later as far as the time to be at the garage to unload. Thank you!

We will be needing help to load the truck at Omaha Sports Complex 144th & Giles after the agility trial today. And also unloading back at the garage. $10 cash for everyone that shows up at the garage and helps! I will send out an email later with an approximate time!
This will count toward volunteer hours!!! Please consider volunteering a couple hours of your time!

Thank you to our mighty group that showed up to help load the truck for our agility trial this weekend! We are at Omaha Sports Center all weekend . We can always use volunteers so if you are in need of volunteer hours, this would be a great opportunity. Come on out!

We still have a few spots left in this class. Would you like the opportunity to train for the advanced and retriever levels of the FETCH test in a class situation. At the site where we have held several tests? We have you covered! Go Dogs will be offering an Adv and Retriever level class at NHS Meadow . The class will be taught by Rose Strasser and this will be a mini session with dates of Oct 19, 10/26 and 11/2 . The class will be one hour starting at 2 p.m. The cost will be $50.00 Prerequisite: Novice FETCH title.

Flyball Recalls & More (6pm) This class will teach drive back to the handler.

building enthusiasm and speed in returning to the handler, even with distractions.
practicing impulse around high-arousal situations (like toys or balls) while still returning when called.
learning that coming back is highly rewarding, whether through toys, tug, or food.
great for confidence building
great for puppies or adult dogs!

Beginning Flyball (7pm) This class will teach the basics of flyball.

Note: Dogs should be at least 1 year old (or close).

Learning course setup, lane choreography, and building blocks of flyball.
Building a relationship with your dog. Your dog will learn that YOU are the most important part of the game.
Developing tug drive and ball possession.
Jumping four jumps in a row. (Focus on driving HARD and FAST to motivator).
Racing side-by-side while going straight to motivator.
Passing an oncoming dog without chasing.
Chasing another dog down the lane, while going to motivator.

Thank you to our judges, Jen Howell and Marci Lundhigh, our trial committee , and volunteers for another successful FETCH test last Sunday at the NHS Meadow. It was a small trial but a beautiful day to be outside. Congratulations to everyone who “Q’d” and/or titled. If anyone has pictures that they would like to add, please do so!
