Go Dogs completed our first FETCH test, with 27 dogs participating in both trials and completing 54 runs within a span of two hours. Our judges, Jen Howell and Jessica Bock, designed a great test and ensured a fair and efficient evaluation process. We are grateful to all our volunteers and the trial committee for their dedication and hard work in making this event a success!

Go Dogs first FETCH test is in the books! We had 27 dogs entered in two trials for 54 runs and still finished in 2 hours. Young dogs and older dogs (oldest was 14 years old!) retrieved balls and bumpers to earn their Novice and intermediate titles. Thank you to our fabulous judges Jen Howell and Jessica Bock for a great test. Thanks to our efficient trial committee, we appreciate all of you!

We are excited to offer Fetch Fun Runs this Saturday! If you have already entered the test, you get one free run! If you’re not sure if you should enter or not, give it a try for $5.00/run. (Priority given to those who have already entered)

Go Dogs AKC agility trial will be held on Oct 11-13 at Omaha Sports Complex. For some reason, the AKC event search is only showing Oct 11 and 12th. We are working to resolve the problem. Entries will open on August 14th. We will also be looking for volunteers- no experience necessary - so save the date! Hope to see you there! Mary Ruhe & Chelsea Kardell - Trial Chairs.

Do you have a dog that loves to retrieve toys? Fetch is the newest title opportunity from the American Kennel Club. Fetch tests your dog's ability to retrieve an object (a bumper or ball). Dog and handler teams compete in four levels: Novice, Intermediate, Advanced, and Retriever.

We will have a FETCH mini class starting Wednesday, June 26th, July 10, and 17 at 6 p.m. In this class, we will go over the foundations of how to create a drive to a ball/bumper, retrieve it, and bring it back to you, as well as some obedience skills necessary on the start line.

We will also host a FETCH test on Sunday, July 21st, in the Meadow at the Nebraska Humane Society. See Go Dog or AKC website for premium.

Is your dog a Canine Good Citizen? Make it official! Nancy Cannon and I are teaching a CGC prep class at Go Dogs starting on Thursday, March 21st at 3:30 p.m. We have a couple of spots left. Prerequisite is our Life Skills or AKC STAR Puppy class or an equivalent elsewhere. The cost of the 6 week class is $100 with a discount to members in good standing. AKC’s Canine Good Citizen program is the gold standard of behavior for dogs in our communities. One million dogs, purebred and mixed breed, have earned CGC.
