Registration for our very popular AKC STAR Puppy class is open! Class will be start on Thursday, January 16th at 5:00 p.m. Puppies must be less than one year old at the start of class. If you are interested, email me, Mary Ruhe at [email protected].

Thank you to our judges Jen Howell, Jessica Bock, and Marci Lundhigh, the trial committee, and the volunteers that helped with another successful FETCH test! It was a bit of a late night, but I think that the new titles were worth it! Congratulations to all! Feel free to post pictures in the comments! Will start off with Chelsea Kardell’s Mowgli and his Novice Fetch title and Reese earning her Intermediate FETCH title

Another successful three day, CPE agility trial is complete. It could not be done without the help of so many wonderful people. Here are just a few of our wonderful members who came out to load the truck and unload it. Thank you for all the volunteers who came to the trial to help.  Thank you to our fabulous judge Melissa Marinovich for fun courses. Thank you to everybody on the trial committee (Loan, Marci, Susan, Melissa, Deb, Meg,Tony and Brie). We have a great club with many wonderful people - it is appreciated!

UPDATE: truck is on its way and should get there by six

Hi everyone, we are doing the last couple classes at the agility trial. I don’t have an exact time but my guess is that we will be at the garage to unload agility equipment around five or 530. I’ll give another update later. Remember this counts as volunteer hours plus you get $10 to unload.

Our CPE agility trial is this weekend at the Gretna Sports Complex. Agility trials generate great revenue for the club and help keep the cost of classes down, so they are a huge benefit to all, even those who don't do agility. That is why we are asking for your help at the trial. We always need helpers to load or unload at the garage.

LOADING AT THE GARAGE IS FRIDAY AT 8:30 a.m. (NOT 7:30 a.m). Sunday we will most likely be done around 4 or so and would need help unloading at the garage. I can send an update on Sunday for a better time.

If you come to the trial, we are having a potluck for lunch, so feel free to bring sides (Go Dogs will get the main course).

Please volunteer if you can. Volunteers will help keep the trial moving. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Nosework One and Done! There are several spots still open for a one and done workshop at Go Dogs on Indication Behavior on Saturday, 12/14/24 from 10am-12:00. This workshop will be taught by Mo Lewis. The cost is $30 per person/dog.
Description:
Do you struggle to know when your dog has truly found the target odor? This one-time, hands-on workshop is designed to help handlers build a reliable indication behavior, giving you a clear and consistent way to recognize when your dog is alerting/found the odor.
In this 2-hour class, each handler will receive individualized feedback as you work through:
Observing your dog’s natural responses in a first search to determine a potential indication behavior.
Deciding between capturing an offered behavior or transferring a known behavior to the odor as an indication.
Step-by-step guidance on capturing or cue transfer to build a clear and reliable alert.
We’ll also cover how to maintain and proof this new indication behavior, highlighting why good mechanics are essential. This class is ideal for handlers who struggle to recognize clear alerts or whose dogs use inconsistent or problematic behaviors, such as pawing, nosing, or 'box smashing' during searches. Note: Your dog must have completed an Intro to Nosework class (either at Go Dogs or elsewhere) prior to attending this workshop.
This will be an informative, useful, and fun workshop, complete with a raffle drawing!
