Bohemian waxwings, like nearly every species of bird, are protected (search for the Migratory Bird Treaty Act list). Fortunately, this window casualty should have a second life in education. Checkout those wings!

What is that?! My best guess is this bird was previously injured and the body walled off the infection. There appeared to be feathers in the dark yellow squishy (yet firm) stuff. Any other guesses? Photos in comments.

One of our dogs had a seizure early this morning. This is video near the end of it. He scared both of us but minutes later he was fine. He went to the vet and will be observed unless they increase in frequency, duration, or intensity. No meds at this time. So aside from the chaos of the holidays I'll be focusing on this guy a bit more than usual. On the bright side, there will be a bunch of birds ready in early January despite not getting quite through the ones that came in December 2021. 😕 Anyway, if you made it this far, thanks for reading and your patience. @nnbirdtaxidermy #nnbirdtaxidermy #birddog #gwp #seizure
