Why did the grouse cross the road?
Stopped in the road waiting for this ruffed grouse to cross. 🙄 Hurry your fluffy butt! @nnbirdtaxidermy #nnbirdtaxidermy

What does a good grouse look like for taxidermy? @nnbirdtaxidermy #nnbirdtaxidermy
Reshare from a few years ago for those with wood ducks. Long good, dark neck, long shoulder bars, all the side pockets, and even tail.

A few pin feathers are fine but this bird is loaded with them. Check your bird at the tailgate so you know if it's a schnitzel night or not! @nnbirdtaxidermy @stephenrodock #nnbirdtaxidermy
Pin feathers! Check your bird at the tailgate so you can decide right away if you're eating it.

🥺 I love #woodcock but they can be very frustrating. Even when you bring in multiple birds it's not a guarantee you'll get a mount back. So, did I save this one? @nnbirdtaxidermy #nnbirdtaxidermy
Updates! I'm working on birds that came in Oct. 2022. I'll call ya when yours is ready. @nnbirdtaxidermy #nnbirdtaxidermy
1. Please stop trespassing on our property. I do contact law enforcement.
2. Things to look for on a bird you'd like to have taxidermied. Damage dictates pose!

Bohemian waxwings, like nearly every species of bird, are protected (search for the Migratory Bird Treaty Act list). Fortunately, this window casualty should have a second life in education. Checkout those wings!
What is that?! My best guess is this bird was previously injured and the body walled off the infection. There appeared to be feathers in the dark yellow squishy (yet firm) stuff. Any other guesses? Photos in comments.
Nice mallard with some action
