🐴🐴🐴🐴🐎🐎***Tips to help your horses stay happy and comfortable during the hot summer days***

*Cool and Comfortable:*
*Be sure horses (even when outside) always have shaded areas and water available.
*Turn horses out early morning or later in the evening to avoid the heat.
*Air out stables with barn safe fans or free flowing open airways.
*Keep horses drinking! Supplement 1-3 tbsp of salt daily and/or use quality electrolytes to replenish key nutrients.
*Fly gear- from blankets to masks to fly boots, can help elimate bites, stomping and knats in your horse’s face and ears. Find the products that work for your horse.
*Eliminate insect breeding grounds- clean up manure from stalls/paddocks often, remove stagnant water sources, cover up horse feeds and supplements that attract flies and keep your barn clean 🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🪰🐴🐴🐴

Avoid the afternoon dog walk the next several days. Direct sunlight with 90+ degree temperatures could cause asphalt temps to climb well into the 100s. Paws can burn extremely fast, so we recommend waiting until the late evening around sunset before walking the dog.
