Happy Father’s Day to these great Dads❤️
We love our students, volunteers and horses! Bit by Bit is a PATH Int'l-affiliated therapeutic horseback riding program.
(39)
Started in 1997 by Linda Barron on the campus of Rogers State University in Claremore, Oklahoma, Bit by Bit began as a way to make a difference in the lives of special needs individuals through equine therapy. Over the years, the program has relocated to Oologah, Oklahoma and expanded to serve 75 students. One thing hasn't changed: the commitment to making a difference in riders' lives. This is po
ssible thanks to over fifty volunteers, a dozen horses, and generous support from donors. Together, we CAN make strides for those with special needs!
Happy Father’s Day to these great Dads❤️
Join us for an evening of dinner and entertainment supporting Bit By Bit Therapeutic Riding Center!
We are 2 weeks away from our annual fundraiser for Bit By Bit. If you ever wanted to donate to a worthy cause this is the place! Therapeutic riding for children with disabilities and first responders volunteering their time to help both riders and horses, it's literally the most magical place ever. We would love for you to come out and see what we are all about. Come join us for a Yellowstone kind of night. There will be an delicious chuckwagon steak dinner, live music by Darla McGuire Brantley, an auction and live painting by Kouri Art that will be auctioned off at the end of the night, as well as a wonderful horse demonstration with our amazing horses and riders to show everyone just some of the magic that happens at Bit by Bit. Oklahoma's own Travis Meyer / News On 6 will be our emcee for the evening. All proceeds will go to helping our students and allowing us to continue our mission of serving individuals with disabilities and those facing challenges in their lives.💗🙏🏽💗🙏🏽💗

We always appreciate the opportunity to share who we are and what we’re about, and that’s making a positive impact in our community and enriching lives - those of our students, our staff, our volunteers, our horses, our whole big awesome Bit by Bit family! And YOU are always welcome to come join the fun! ❤️🐴
Thank you to TulsaPeople Magazine!
“There is nothing as healing and unconditional as the love horses can show in their eyes, or as they are touched and cared for by humans,” says Linda Barron, founder
A group of special volunteers came together to help out a local therapeutic horseback riding center on Friday.
Lots of laughs and big smiles today at our early Valentines Day event at Bit by Bit

Spring 2023 Week 1 is in the books- we are so glad to see our rider friends again!
Rider Tyler had a great lesson working on balance, core strength and fine motor skills- in addition to identifying colors and numbers. He is showing great trust in his instructor, Paize, and has even started taking both hands off the saddle horn to work on his activities. Great job Tyler!
Our Wednesday, Thursday and Friday lessons have a need for volunteers- give us a call or email us at [email protected] if you would like to join in on the fun!
Thank You to the Tulsa Downtown Lions Club on behalf of the Bit By Bit riders and horses. Your generous donation helps us improve the experience of our entire Bit By Bit family.

News On 6 is giving back to the community this holiday season and on Thursday, Alan Crone and Travis Meyer visited a therapeutic horse-riding program called Bit By Bit.
Dear Santa,
We've been really good this year. We served 63 students in the Fall and are looking forward to welcoming even more in the Spring! While we are on break, we hope to rest, get our nails done and brush up on new therapy skills.
Thank you for answering our last letter with a year full of amazing volunteers, parents, students, staff and new friends. Our program runs on community involvement, donations and gifts of time- we have been so blessed!
We have included a short list of our most favorite things we would love to see Christmas morning.
Yours truly,
The Bit By Bit Horses
P.S. Please stop here for some cookies and milk on your big night out. We will leave some hay and carrots for your reindeer!
P.P.S. Our friends at Mid America Farm and Ranch in Talala have all of our favorite things!
When the student becomes the instructor 💞
Tulsa Firefighter, Alycia Hawkins came out to help out with Friday classes. Alycia was new to working with horses but was willing to learn. Our amazing student Addison, stepped right up to help Alycia, she gave a list of the do's and don't and lots of safety tips when dealing with horses. These two really hit it off and were all smiles the entire morning. Alycia got lessons in saddling a horse, being a side walker and the many different needs of each student. Thank you Alycia we are so proud to have you working with us and hope you come back soon. We are also extra proud of Addison for switching roles to help out our volunteers, that's teamwork.

Shout out to Tarzan and Jane led by Brandon, Gizzy for best side pony and to Cherokee and his handler Riley (along with Dad Ryan).
We are always needing volunteers and It's such a great day when the first responders drop in to help us out.
I don't know who has more fun, the staff, the students or these heroes but we just can't help smiling when we get together.
We are so blessed to have these men and women working with us, we can't wait to see them again.

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas here at Bit by Bit. We love how Christmas just brings out the kindness in everyone.
Today the sweetest thing happened, Owasso Christmas Tree and Berry Farm was kind enough to donate a Christmas tree to Bit by Bit. When volunteers arrived to pick the tree up, they learned that a tree had instead been purchased for us. A customer of the tree farm had heard about Bit by Bit and asked if they could personally purchase a tree for us because they wanted to "pay it forward this Christmas" They purchased a beautiful 8ft Douglas fir with a tree stand and all💞
Volunteer Kelly Tobin Nichols and others then purchased everything to decorate the tree and entryway. We are so blessed to have the support of our community and volunteers. Thank you to all who helped out today. What a great way to start the Christmas season❤🎅🎄🎁
With the season of giving upon us, please think of Bit by Bit. We need volunteers for 2023 classes for different needs and time schedules. We also have two orientations coming up in December. Contact us for more information.
And if you have any suggestions of places to put posters, let us know!
Gizzy the pony would like to say, "Happy Thanksgiving!"
She also mentioned saving carrots from your meal for her.
This week Bit by Bit is thankful to all who support our mission and the friends we have made along the way:
Thank you Don Feather and Denise Henry for donating and making our newest obstacles. The students are going to love them!
A shout out to Safari Sanctuary in Broken Arrow and their critters. Hooved or clawed, we are all animal lovers around here. And we are so glad they enjoyed our gift of extras in this holiday season.
First ever "Heroes Helping Heroes" clinic was a hit! Thank you Tulsa Fire Department for being wonderful students.
Special thanks to Trails End BBQ for feeding us.
Bit by bit will be cancelling classes tomorrow due to potential road conditions. Normal classes will continue for the rest of the week. Everyone, drive safe tomorrow.
In the meantime, keep warm and happy with the below photos and highlights from classes over the last few weeks!
Happy Veterans Day from the Bit by Bit family! We thank you for your courage and sacrifice and look forward to growing our program to serve you, as you’ve so bravely served all of us. Stay tuned for upcoming developments!
