If you adopt from FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue, You will be required to sign a contract. You MUST contact us at [email protected] if you are not able to keep the pet you adopted from us. If we do not have room, you will need to keep the pet until a foster or a FURever home is found. There is a $30 return fee, if pet was adopted over 4 months prior to returning. All vet records must be given to us as well. If pet is returned within 3 days, the adoption fee minus $20 will be refunded. The $20 we keep, is to help cover a part of the gas and time spent doing the adoption. If pet is returned within 4-7 days, 1/2 of the adoption fee will be refunded. After 7 days, there is no refund of the adoption fee.

UPDATE: We’ve got it covered now all thanks to, Claudia Ramirez Iorio, Betsy Hampton Parson, Regina Watson Ownby, and Roxanne Peterson! 3 out of 4 have adopted a FURkid (well Betsy has adopted 5 lol) over the years! THANK YOU LADIES! 🥰

Remember Bella (Holly Berry) that was adopted many years ago and was found by a nice couple who to her to the vet because she was not doing well? Turns out she was diabetic and her sugar was nearly 500 and 16 years old, with bad arthritis, so we made the decision to let her cross the 🌈 bridge. I finally was able to contact the owner and they said they were going to pick her up from the vet.

Unfortunately they never picked her up or even called the vet and she died on 11/30. So I have everything set up with Pet Haven to pick her up to be cremated, and she will be coming back to me. If anyone can help with the unexpected cost of Bella/Holly Berry’s cremation we would greatly appreciate it.

It all came to $150 with cremation, urn, and paw print. Thank you for helping us out, we’re barely making it right now, just like so many others. So if you’re one barely making it, PLEASE do not donate.

I hate adding to the 🌈 Bridge album, but sweet Nera was not doing well. She was diagnosed with cancer a 1 1/2 years ago and was given 6 months to live. She sure showed them by living another whole year!

Nera’s mama called me today while she was at the animal emergency room with her. Thankfully I was able to be there with another of my favorites when her time was up.

Nera’s original owner died and was left at a shelter back in early 2021. She was 10 years old and such a good girl. She never had an issue with anyone and never had an accident while she was with me. Her mom wanted to adopt an older girl and decided she wanted Nera! She has been treated like a queen ever since!

So many rescues that come to us, have heartbreaking backgrounds. Nera was a lucky girl! She was loved ALL of her life by someone. I feel like she’s probably enjoying some time with her original owner right at this moment! 🥰

UPDATE: He is now fully vetted and is heartworm negative!! 🎉

He was a little nervous this morning. He wasn’t quite sure what was going on, but he still handled it well.

He is now at the vet for all of his neuter, etc, so he can find his FURever home now! He had to greet a few of the Dixie workers and give them some love too (I wish I had gotten a picture it was cute)!

HES has had a large influx of intakes of puppies in the last few weeks, ranging from a few months old to newborns. We'd like to take this as an opportunity for some humane education and talk about the importance of spaying/neutering your animals!

KEEP PETS SAFE AND OUT OF SHELTERS by spaying and neutering! Fixing your pets literally saves lives! How? Read below 👇

🐾When your animals are spayed/neutered, they will never contribute to the overpopulation of animals that end up in shelters. While HES does not euthanize for space, many shelters do. End overcrowding shelters through fewer unwanted litters!

🐾Dogs and cats are less likely to roam to find a mate if they are fixed, and end up lost/as strays in a shelter. HES's shelter population is typically over half made up of stray animals that came to us unaltered.

🐾Fixing your pets may curb unpleasant behaviors, such as overexcitability and some forms of aggression - getting these behaviors under control may help owners keep their pets instead of surrendering them to a shelter when they become too unruly.

🐾Lastly, fixing your pets can protect against certain types of cancers and illnesses, as well as accidents and injuries from roaming or fighting. This could save your pet's life through prevention!

Dog was reunited with his owner. He does need to see a vet, so we have offered to help with vetting. The owner’s daughter will (hopefully) take him to the vet ASAP and we will try to raise some funds to help them out, since the lady is on social security (so I’m sure most know how that goes trying to live on ss)😔

Meet Tilly Tilly was surrendered to the crowded shelter, because she was scared of the families young kids and they felt bad for her. She was rescued by Sally (1 of our favorite fosters ever) from a shelter a few days ago and we offered to make her an official FURever FURkid! She is a very nervous girl and the noisy shelter definitely wasn’t the best place for her. She is learning how to be a spoiled princess pup now! Tilly is around 3 years old and weighs right under 12 pounds. She is spayed, updated on all shots, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, and on heartworm preventative. (Which she must stay on all of her life.) She enjoys being on the FURniture with her people and likes to follow her foster mom everywhere she goes. So, if you have a nice, quiet home (no kids or super hyper pets) and don’t mind having a “shadow” following you around, then Tilly may be a good fit! The adoption fee is $250 to an approved and loving home. All vet records will be given to the adopter(s) at the time of adoption. To apply to adopt go to our website www.fureverfurkids.com *We do home checks for each pet before approving an adoption.* The application is to be completed prior to meeting the pet(s) you are interested in adopting. If they are still on the page, they are still more than likely still available. We do keep our website and Petfinder updated regularly. Monday afternoon playtime at the “orphanage” 😂

Stray pup is enjoying the chewy. Pup G was found as a stray several days ago by a nice lady. We of course checked for a chip and did a Pawboost and have not found an owner. The stray hold ends on Monday. Grooming visit to come on Tuesday! Poor pup has a bunch of matts. I’ve been trying to get as many as I can cut off.

We hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving! We are Thankful for all of our wonderful adopters, fosters, supporters, and friends!

Who says dogs need 4 legs to run??? This girl is doing fantastic now!🙌🏻 I don’t let her out with everyone yet, just because she’s still healing of course. She is such a happy dog though! She is doing well with pottying outside too as you’ll notice in the video (that’s why I had to focus on videoing my Remi so she could have some privacy)! 🤣 Madi should be ready for her FURever by mid January, after her spay! When I get home from work, they are always ready to play (and potty too lol)! This is the best time of year, when it’s not hot and it’s not cold. We all enjoy being outside when it’s like them! 🥰

Our Story

Established in 2011, FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue is a privately run rescue in Ooltewah, TN (near Chattanooga).

All of our sanctuary/rescue pets have come from situations such as being on death row at shelters, owners who can no longer keep them, or even rescued from heartbreaking situations.

Each rescued pet is kept in foster homes until a FURever home is found. If no home can be found, they become a sanctuary pet. Every pet is spayed/neutered (if of age), current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and dogs are heartworm tested, (if the dog is over 6 months) prior to adoption.
