If you adopt from FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue, You will be required to sign a contract. You MUST contact us at [email protected] if you are not able to keep the pet you adopted from us. If we do not have room, you will need to keep the pet until a foster or a FURever home is found. There is a $30 return fee, if pet was adopted over 4 months prior to returning. All vet records must be given to us as well. If pet is returned within 3 days, the adoption fee minus $20 will be refunded. The $20 we keep, is to help cover a part of the gas and time spent doing the adoption. If pet is returned within 4-7 days, 1/2 of the adoption fee will be refunded. After 7 days, there is no refund of the adoption fee.

I’ll post Sam’s video in the comments. Lol Sam is going back to his mom after his vetting (so he is not available)! We’ve talked or texted about everyday since I took in Juno. I will say this….if you have a Frenchie, Pug, Bulldog, or any mix of those breeds, your house will NEVER quiet, because they breathe and snore SO LOUD! 😂

This is Brody! The original owner was having some landlord issues and she was needing to find a safe place for him.

My friends Chris and Vicki’s dog recently died in October and were ready for a new friend, so when I sent him a picture of Brody they said they wanted to meet him. I NEVER adopt on the spot, especially if they aren’t neutered yet, but I trust them and have known them for years. His vetting is already scheduled for 1-17 and he’ll have the works done of course.

BTW If you like Mexican food, check out Chris’ restaurant Dos Amigas on Highway 58 in Chattanooga. I don’t like Mexican food usually, but I like it! 😋

Pebbles here! Isn’t she cute???

She loves to run and play when she’s not snuggling with her foster mom on the chair.

She has a deformed front paw (almost looks like a lobster claw). It is something she was born with were pretty sure about, but she doesn’t always bare weight on it.

So…with that being said, we want to just have it checked over and make sure it’s nothing to worry about. She going to the vet on the 13th for a check up. Hopefully it will just be like Nemo’s “Lucky Finn” and be Pebbles “Lucky Paw”! 🐾

If you’d like to help with that bill we won’t say no. Lol We’ve had 6 adoptions, but we’ve also have had 4 vet bills already this year and about to be a 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th during the next couple of weeks. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Too many of us are buying or adopting working dogs or dogs for aesthetic and status reasons, while not knowing what to do with them on a daily basis.

Too many of these dogs are bored and frustrated as they are expected to be couch potatoes or be happy with staying home alone, sometimes locked up or crated, for 8-10 hours a day with lots of toys.

Too many on these dogs are then acting out via excessive behaviours - barking, digging holes, chewing furniture, while some are jumping the walls and running away.

Too many dogs are abandoned to fend for themselves or end up in a shelter because they are 'too much' for their families.

Too many dogs are put to sleep because of 'behaviourial' issues when the truth is that we just don't understand what they need.

Do the same amount of research on the breed you want as you would researching the TV you want...

Remember that form follows function, so a herding, guarding, retrieving or hunting dog would need to spend the main parts of their day engaging in activities that satisfy those genetic needs.

Don't choose a breed because of something you saw in a movie or on TV...understand the history of that breed and then you will get an idea of what dog needs in his daily life.

Madi is home!! She was just spayed today, so I let them know her calmness won’t stay around for long! lol They just lost their dog a few days ago and didn’t want to have an empty house! We feel Madi might be the ticket to help with some of the sadness.

Daffodil is the bone 🦴 stealer and Bear is the bone 🦴 hoarder. In the end, Bear seems to always get the bone, but Daffy is a good sport about it. 😂

P.J. decided he was going to start on his New Years Resolution of exercising. 🤣 He got a little chunky after being in rescue all of 2024! Daffy is like his personal trainer! 😂

Our Story

Established in 2011, FURever FURkids Sanctuary & Rescue is a privately run rescue in Ooltewah, TN (near Chattanooga).

All of our sanctuary/rescue pets have come from situations such as being on death row at shelters, owners who can no longer keep them, or even rescued from heartbreaking situations.

Each rescued pet is kept in foster homes until a FURever home is found. If no home can be found, they become a sanctuary pet. Every pet is spayed/neutered (if of age), current on age appropriate vaccines, microchipped, and dogs are heartworm tested, (if the dog is over 6 months) prior to adoption.
