Update: I think I’m giving him 2 names…Bucky Walker!

It is official, his name is Bucky, named after one of the vets that took care of him during his stray hold. Bucky is also a fitting name because he kinda “bucks” around the house! 🤣

He is so sweet and gets around pretty well, even though his back legs aren’t working well.

He was at Bradley County vet during his stray hold and they all fell in love with him! The vets all agree that although he may never walk on all 4 legs again, he seems to have a lot of s***k! He has some “wheels” that are going to donated to him and we’ll get them asap. I think that may help him regain some of his strength back in his legs with a wheelchair.

UPDATE AGAIN: He is coming to me. The other rescue decided they no longer wanted him because he is probably going to be in a wheelchair forever.

Update: Scratch that…another rescue got there before Michelle. He is safe, but just going with another rescue. 😊and😩

Blake is coming to FURever FURkids tomorrow! So he is safe. He is going to need a doggy wheelchair but other than that he’s in good shape according to the vet.

*Per Vet- pet has a step down back fracture. Pet may never have use of his back legs. Pet is very friendly and 2years or under for age. Pet is eating and drinking on his own.

The City of Cleveland guidelines state that the CACD is only permitted to provide vetting for sick/injured pets on a STRAY hold and only until the pet’s legal stray hold period has been completed. We do not have a vet on our staff, so all sick/injured pets will have to be adopted/rescued by the date posted.

The CACD is a stressful environment that is not suitable for urgent animals to stay due to potential risk of their illness spreading to other adoptable pets that are portraying as healthy. We do not have access/funds to necessary medical supplies that is needed to provide them with proper care like a vet’s office would.

As per the City of Cleveland guidelines for an OWNER SURRENDERED pet, these pets do not receive any vaccinations/vet treatment upon intake, because the owner is surrendering them to our CACD as is.

Again, the CACD does not have a Vet on staff and cannot provide treatment for OWNER SURRENDERED pets. We highly urge pet owners to use the CACD as a last resort option for placing your pet. Please keep in mind, while you are trying to rehome your one pet, the CACD is trying to find 1,500 or more a home.

The CACD has limited space as well as funds which causes us to operate within the parameters that are set in .

All adoption fees are $50.00 and includes spay/neuter, first set of shots, deworming, and rabies vaccination(if pet is over 12 weeks of age).
Adoptions are first come, first serve - No exceptions.

All are around a year old, just under 30 pounds, neutered, updated on all shots, heartworm negative, on preventatives, and have been waiting for homes for like….well FURever!🐶

Had to share the new kitchen kennel. I use this for special needs pups, brand new rescues needing their own space temporarily, or Franky, while I’m not home, when I’m dog sitting him for Betsy (he is blind and deaf).

Our good friend, Heather (a repeat adopter) got this (and several other things) for the FURkids for Christmas. Our old one was soooo O-L-D! Lol I still have 1 just like this in the living room too, so it’s nice have 2! (Yes every room is pretty much for the dogs except 1 of the bedrooms.) 🤣
