Jochie
Off leash heeling is coming along
Finn
Finn and Beth are doing awesome at home! Keep up the good work
Door manners
Dog training takes patience and it’s definitely not always rainbows and butterflies. BUT I must saw happy, wild banshees make me laugh and enjoy my job.
Working out
Before the first round of students arrive next week, Jochie and I have been running every evening. Worked on his change of positions and patience’s in those positions tonight. 🥰🐕 what do you think of the baby?
Training
Jochie and I are back state side and training every day. After five months of travel and training in Europe, we are exciting to continue on this wild journey. What do you think this silly exercise might be used for in the near future?
Hide and seek
Playing hide and seek in the woods with Jochie. He caught on fast! Next, he will go behind me and bark. Then, we put someone different in the woods for him to find. And the game is fun! Crazy that they have no snakes or spiders or critters to worry about while playing in the woods here.
Airport
Jochie and I made it through TSA and all the headache of checking a dog. With all the correct documentation, it was a long process but no issues.
One take away for the process was to make 3 copies of all the paperwork. 1 originals to keep; 2 copies attached to the kennel; and 3 copies for the check in folks.
Decoys
As a dog trainer, we can do a lot by ourselves BUT to produce the best of the best it takes a team! This is for basic obedience, advance obedience or high level sport training. I am extremely thankful for the countless people that have and will put on the bite suit (decoys) for Jochie and me.
Decoys can make or break your dog and play a crucial role in their development. They embrace their failures to learn and the pains to help them to grow, how to move next time, how to protect themselves, how to protect the dogs, their own physical stamina and experiencing how to work so many different type of dogs. These guys take a beating week after week! The saying blood, sweat and tears is so true in the dog sport world, especially for decoys. I cannot put into words my appreciation for their willingness, desire and passion to truly make our dogs better. BECAUSE IF THE TEAM WINS, WE ALL WIN! 🥇
Thank you decoys for suiting up and making a difference in each and every team you work with!
Nicky
Nicky is 12.5 years old and has been a working dog until he retired at 10 years old. He started slowing down about a year ago. Which is to be expected but not this fast and I don’t want him to hurt. I went to My Family Vet in Woodforest and they suggested the Librela shot. Within 24 hours, Nicky was running around like a puppy. Two shots and he is chasing a ball again, able to jump up/ climb stairs and seems to be feeling better overall. 🥰
If you have a senior dog, ask your vet about it. If you’re in the Montgomery area, call My Family Vet 281-288-1221
Lily refresher
Lily came for a little refresher while her mom is out of town. She came to me a wild child 😳 but what I LOVE about the dogs I’ve trained is their SOLID foundation! Which is why I will be able to get her back on track in a day or two. 🥰
Jochie’s attacks
Jochie is 17 months old and we head to Europe next month. This is an amazing learning opportunity for us! We have come so far and I couldn’t be more proud of our journey thus far. 🐕🩵🐕
Bag with Jochie
Jochie’s progression on tonight’s bag session. He needs to let go of the tug and go back to the bag on his own. His out is good but then he just lays down right there. You’ll notice the last rep that he looks for the bag so I reward that!
