Hide and seek
Playing hide and seek in the woods with Jochie. He caught on fast! Next, he will go behind me and bark. Then, we put someone different in the woods for him to find. And the game is fun! Crazy that they have no snakes or spiders or critters to worry about while playing in the woods here.
Airport
Jochie and I made it through TSA and all the headache of checking a dog. With all the correct documentation, it was a long process but no issues.
One take away for the process was to make 3 copies of all the paperwork. 1 originals to keep; 2 copies attached to the kennel; and 3 copies for the check in folks.
Decoys
As a dog trainer, we can do a lot by ourselves BUT to produce the best of the best it takes a team! This is for basic obedience, advance obedience or high level sport training. I am extremely thankful for the countless people that have and will put on the bite suit (decoys) for Jochie and me.
Decoys can make or break your dog and play a crucial role in their development. They embrace their failures to learn and the pains to help them to grow, how to move next time, how to protect themselves, how to protect the dogs, their own physical stamina and experiencing how to work so many different type of dogs. These guys take a beating week after week! The saying blood, sweat and tears is so true in the dog sport world, especially for decoys. I cannot put into words my appreciation for their willingness, desire and passion to truly make our dogs better. BECAUSE IF THE TEAM WINS, WE ALL WIN! 🥇
Thank you decoys for suiting up and making a difference in each and every team you work with!
Nicky
Nicky is 12.5 years old and has been a working dog until he retired at 10 years old. He started slowing down about a year ago. Which is to be expected but not this fast and I don’t want him to hurt. I went to My Family Vet in Woodforest and they suggested the Librela shot. Within 24 hours, Nicky was running around like a puppy. Two shots and he is chasing a ball again, able to jump up/ climb stairs and seems to be feeling better overall. 🥰
If you have a senior dog, ask your vet about it. If you’re in the Montgomery area, call My Family Vet 281-288-1221
Lily refresher
Lily came for a little refresher while her mom is out of town. She came to me a wild child 😳 but what I LOVE about the dogs I’ve trained is their SOLID foundation! Which is why I will be able to get her back on track in a day or two. 🥰
Jochie’s attacks
Jochie is 17 months old and we head to Europe next month. This is an amazing learning opportunity for us! We have come so far and I couldn’t be more proud of our journey thus far. 🐕🩵🐕
Bag with Jochie
Jochie’s progression on tonight’s bag session. He needs to let go of the tug and go back to the bag on his own. His out is good but then he just lays down right there. You’ll notice the last rep that he looks for the bag so I reward that!
Little by little - it’s coming together
Feeding time
Is this what your feeding time looks like with multiple dogs?
Happy girl learning the place command
Jochie blooper
And this is why we don’t play inside on rainy days or ever! Bloopers happen to everyone. Enjoy 🤣
Cooper come
Working on coming to the side with Cooper. His daddy is vision impaired and we want to keep him safe and out from under everyone’s feet. Cooper loves to torture cats and loses his mind! I really look forward to helping him live in harmony with his whole family.
Natasha’s first session on place was great! Her biggest challenge is reactivity to new people or dogs in familiar spaces like the kennel, car or around mommy. Look forward to many more field trips with this sweet girl
Natasha’s first session on place. She did great. We are working on basic obedience to help her manage this big, scary world. She is reactive to new people and dogs in familiar spaces like her kennel, car or around her mommy. Looking forward to many more field trips with this sweet girl.
Louie was a naughty boy when he first came to Pawlish Up. He loved to jump to greet everyone, pulled on the leash, and oh the barking! Barking at everyone and everything. Look at him now ❤️
Louie’s Midway Lesson
Louie did so good during his midway with his mommy there. I look forward to the next 10 days and all the many more adventures we get to explore. His mommy is looking forward to the beach, hiking and fun trips with Louie. I’m excited to watch their journey together.
Louie
Louie had a busy day! We worked on greeting new people, door manners, being quiet once told, place inside, and just being free outside but staying close. Of course we worked obedience, but these are a few areas we forget about with hyper pups. Sometimes we have to teach calmness and we do that through obedience. Louie is doing so good 🥰
When your client sends you a train video and they totally kill it!!! 🤣 Brittany Dumagpi
Pawlish Up had a guest visitor this past week. Dog training is proofing your exercises and working through real life scenarios, not avoiding them. We may look funny but whatever it takes to help the dogs. 🤣🤪 enjoy training with your pup and find different ways to teach them something new!! Happy Training!!
In four short days, Ivey is excelling in every area of her training. She knew sit but not a reliable sit/stay. She definitely beats to her own drum and would not come when called. Now look at that amazing head positioning. 💕 Great job Ivey
