Sometimes you have a humbling experience when you are reminded about how it feels to be a client. My puggy had life threatening hypoglycemia yesterday and I was shifted back to the scared dad world from my usual unphased surgeon world. I was reminded of that fear, the uncertainty, the confusion that our clients have. I was lucky to have an amazing group of supporters who ran to her care.. It was inspiring to see how our dedicated community of veterinary professionals drop everything to help and support when a pet is in need.

A scary experience but very cool to get reminded of how amazing our field is.

A special thank you to the teams at Orange Canyon Pet Clinic and The Newport Veterinary Hospital and of course Ryan who is always there..

This is the printed model of the severe lateral patella luxation, we previously digitally modeled. The interesting thing here is the patella is sitting not only in a very abnormal position, but the axial orientation of the patella is very peculiar. The specific angle of the patella suggests a large soft tissue component to the condition.

Last day of receiving at VMSG as we move to a full time mobile operation. I will miss my amazing team and all my wonderful clients. This was my surprise this morning walking in to see my "replacement." Gotta love it!!!

I just wanted to share an amazing story of global unity. One of my LinkedIn friends from China recently went through shut downs and economic devistation with Covid-19. When she heard California is shutting down and only allowing essential services, she reached out to me to see how she can help. She is sending N95 masks for my team so that they can feel safe while continuing to care for the beloved pets in our community. She is doing this out of the kindness of her heart and I am amazed at the generosity.

Meet Fievel!! This guy has a pretty severe cleft palate. He was lucky to have been picked up by our friends over at Zori Pet Rescue to help. His surgery is scheduled for the middle of March. Fingers crossed we can make him good as new!!

This wonderful little rescue dog with Greendog Foundation was a trauma victim prior to being rescued from the shelter. He lost one eye and required repair of his jaw fracture, among other injuries. VMSG-OC was honored to get to help in his care.
