Anthena is 7 years old and a tiny little girl weighing less than 40 pounds. After a life of breeding, she developed a mass on her breast and was turned into the shelter as a stray. We're sure her owners didn't 'want to find her' since she was too old to have more pups and would need surgery because of her mass. Good news for her is the mass was all removed and no signs of cancer with her. Her owners never came for her and she's ready for a home to start the 'best part of her life now.'

Anthena is fostering North San Diego County and ready to meet families. She seems to get along with other dogs, ignores cats and spends most of her time trying to snuggle with her human company.

Welcome "Jojo' from the Inland Humane Society, California. Poor girl has just been abandoned by her family at perhaps the worst possible time in her life. Jojo's skin infection so bad that most people just shy away from wanting to hug her, let alone wanting to pet her while at the shelter. There has understandably not been any public interest in her at this time.

""Jojo, English Bulldog, Female, 5 yr, ID #62381, Came in with a very bad skin condition ! The Shelter made a few medical tests, and Test for mange scrap, and chemical burns came back negative. This sweet girl has just really bad allergies, and Bacterial infections, which caused in combination Jojo's skin problems. Jojo is very friendly to Shelter's Staff, and also fine with any other Dogs ! Jojo is well behaved, and a super cute girl, with so much joy of life ! Staff is saying only the best things about her, and except her skin issues has Jojo no other Medical problems ! Jojo is since Wednesday, 02/05/25 available for Adoption by general Public !

Jojo has just about no fur at all, so bad is it that she looks beyond help and it's going to take a lot of time and support for her to improve - if at possible since this looks like has been so long now.

Gus is a happy Bulldog that will do anything for you and prefers to be the only dog in the home. He's grown comfortable with another Bulldog he is sharing his some with foster parents but would be best as an only dog during his initial placement. He doesn't know his strength and tends to get excited when he meets new dogs.

Rescue is a "balancing act" between what the rescue needs to provide for Bulldogs needing help and what resources the rescue needs to make that all happen. Too often it seems the scales of need is more than what rescue can provide.

Each and every Bulldog that come to rescue from a shelter is given a full medical exam by one of our rescue vet, this exam includes blood test, f***l test, urine test, full examination of eyes, ears, mouth and a report on the Bulldogs general health. Prescriptions for deworming, flea/tick treatments, eye drops, ear medication and antibiotics for infections are prescribed on the first day the Bulldog comes in rescue. This all costs between $450 and $600 for the basic care, and not taking in future spay/neuters, cherry eye, pallet surgeries and other medical care.

Our monthly pledges help rescue cover monthly expenses for each rescued Bulldog.
Everyone that pledges each month is helping So Cal Bulldog Rescue by allowing us the opportunity to take the next Bulldog in need and know we have some stream of income to count on for the bill that will follow with each life saved.

So Ube came into foster care with me not knowing how to be an indoor "pet" dog. That means she has a lot to learn about potty training, toys, beds, walking on a leash, etc. But something that many people don't think of, is that she doesn't know how to relax and snuggle. She's very affectionate and loves attention but she's awkward and gets overexcited and can't melt into a lap and soak up the love. So every morning I sit with my coffee and hang out on my big, old, (gross) dog couch with "the pack" and we work on getting her to settle and just accept quiet affection. She's starting to get the hang of it. ❤️
She has come very far in just a month and I hope to have her ready for adoption in the next few weeks.

Welcome Henzo!! This sweet seven year old boy is good with children and other dogs. We understand he ignores cats for the most part. Life changed at home and he is being rehomed.

Potty trained, can use a pet door and not a big barker. Has some anxiety issues and managed with medication

Tootsie is about 4 years old and still looking for a very special home. She has limited vision from a birth defect, but gets along with other dogs, smart and playful. She takes a little time to get use to new environments and very smart.

We got a message on the Instagram today from one of our previous adopters notifying us of a video that was made from a “rescue” account “Waves Of Hope NC 23” about Gertie being returned, and attempting to raise money and get people to donate to their links to support her.

A rather alarming post and a scam. Even while in "rescue" low lives are still trying to make money off her.

Gertie legitimately has over $7,000 of medical coming up between TECA for her ear, pallet surgery (BOAS), entropic eye lids surgeries, tumor removal from her a**s region and basic care.

Shame on this scammers and watch out!!
