Please note that we require applications, homechecks and an adoption fee prior to all adoptions. We only place dogs in Southern California - we do not ship dogs outside of our area, please do not ask. We offer new beginnings for English Bulldogs that are homeless, abandoned or surrendered. Some come from cruelty; some from ambivalence. Some Bulldogs come to us simply because an owner is elderly or

sick and can no longer care for a much-loved pet, or there has been a divorce, job loss or illness in the family. Join other families and make a pledge to assure we have the ability to help these bulldogs needing out help. Ghost came to SCBR in 2019 at the age of 4. Unfortunately, his owner has some tragic things happen and she entrusted Ghost into the care of a friend. We always tell homes that if they can’t keep a dog they adopted, they can always come back into rescue. We really wish that Ghost’s owner had given him back to us. Unfortunately, he was given to a person that didn’t give Ghost the care he needed.

Fast forward to a couple weeks ago… we get a phone call from Animal Control that Ghost was picked up on the streets of San Bernardino. Thanks to his microchip, he was able to be returned to rescue. Not only was Ghost abandoned on the streets, he was in bad shape medically. Ghost was given his name because of his enchanting white fur… which was now a filthy, nasty brown. He’s got a limp. His ears are dirty and serverly infected. He wasn’t given the eye meds he needed and now has permanently impaired vision.

We are beyond grateful that Ghost made his way back to us. Now 9 years old, Ghost has been seen by our vet, cleaned up and treated as best he could be. He’s safe and getting the care he needs. But now he needs a hero - he needs a home. Ghost needs a soft spot to land and just live out the rest of his life in a place where he knows that he is never going to be neglected or abandoned ever again.

Ghost is a wonderful candidate for our Shady Paws program - a long‐term foster program focused on homing our lovable senior bullies. SCBR provides for the medical care needs of these dogs (i.e Ghost’s eye drops). You are giving Ghost, a senior dog that was already tossed away, a home that they would otherwise not have. A kennel is no place for any dog, let alone a senior.

Albany has a big personality and likes other Bulldogs which is a huge plus for someone looking to add a second Bulldog to the family. Albany has been around several other Bulldogs on play dates and does very well with ignoring them, just sniffing or even playing a little if the mood strikes her.

Albany was rescues from a local shelter, so we don't know how she is with cats, but with Bulldogs she is good. Albany hasn't been around children, and we would recommend a supervised home with children 10 and over.

Tito has everything that people love about older Bulldogs. He gives paws, he gives belly, he rolls over on his back, he doesn't bark a lot and he follows you around. He's cute and his 'eyes just scream love'. Tito likes other dogs or can be the only dog. So easy going he might even ignore cats - 'but we don't know that for sure.' Tito was rescued from a shelter and should meet children and be supervised as first meetings.

Bruce is a big smush of a Bulldog with a huge heart and needs a larger yard to live in since he's close to 90 pounds of Bulldog. Bruce loves to run and play, he's a very active Bulldog that likes to play and rough house, which requires a lot of space and someone to interact with him on a regular basis. Bruce is still very puppy like with his toys and likes to chew, play catch and running around in a yard is going to be very important with a dog of his size.

Seriously ugly... breeder dropped 'five Bulldogs" at the shelter. Changes mind, comes back to cherry pick two younger ones and leaves the other three needing close to combined $5,000 in surgeries for rescue.

This breeders dogs are full of health problems ranging from all having palet issues, entropian eye lids, grossly overweight, of course no basic shots and needing stays or neuters.

Thought to myself- why did he just give up the other two and then turn around adopt back from shelter. Could be be because he'll get 'surgeries paid by the shelter with is tax subsidized' and just pay regular adoption fees?

Rescue doesn't get that subsidized benefit from tax payers.. We're lucky to get vet discounts.

There is a certain type of breeder you want to know and a whole lot of breeders you want "nothing to do with" and this guy was one of the lowest...

Welcome Peggy, Liam and Noel... the lucky ones. The ones that when back to the breeder maybe not as lucky.

Thet say some diamonds are cherished in the rough when found. Not this one!

Diamond is at nice as they get and going to be adopted by someone that is looking for a special Bulldog that will be their only pet. Diamond has had a pretty crappy life until now, bred, dump between family members and somehow medically neglected until she ended up in rescue.

Things have gotten better for her and she's doing better now, she's had a recent tail amputation, been spayed and given a 'clean bill of health'. Diamond has lived with other dogs and should meet other dogs to see if a good match. She's also lived with children, so can meet and be supervised by parents around children.

It's back and it's here!

We're excited to have a high collectable Danbury Mint "Bulldog Christmas Tree' for raffle again this year to help raise funds for our rescue. We're doing this for the same great raffle of $10 a ticket or 6 for $50.

These were made in 2006 and discontinued after the first year of production. Now you can only find them for resale and often well over $1,000 on Ebay or other resale sites.

This tree is in like new condition with no damage, only displayed for the holidays. It 'does not' come with original box, foam packaging or replacement lights. He does come with the lighting power cord; the topper bone star and all lights currently work. This tree has been hand inspected and tested.

This unique item is in excellent and like new condition, only displayed during the holiday season. It comes from a non-smoking house. It comes with the original box and original packing materials. It has been carefully inspected, no breaks, no cracks and all lights work.

For those not familiar with the ‘bulldog Christmas Trees' from Danbury Mint, they are listed as 13.5" tall from base to top of the 'bone star' on top of the tree. They plug into a wall socket to light up 60 multi-color light bulbs but does not need to be plugged in to be equally beautiful as a display. There are 25 hard crafted bulldogs displayed in various poses and 'bulldog antics' such as playing tug-a-war, holding a slipper in mouth, opening gifts, and hiding in the branches of the tree.

The tree is very heavy and made from cold-cast porcelain (porcelain powdered mixed with resin), then hand detailed and painted by artisans for the Danbury Mint.
If you are a collector of Danbury products or even just their bulldog theme items, this is a 'retired' design made in 2006 and no plans to reproduce in the future.

These are resale if you can find them for over $1,000 and on Ebay the sky is the limit! Don’t let anyone offer you a private deal or take money from you unless a trusted resource. Every year scammers come out for these raffles.

Her name is Chanel she's around 4 and 1/2 years old. Lost in May 2024 in Chino, Ca. She's very shy and is a one person companion her nose is a little dry, and almost like an ingrown tooth on the bottom in the middle lol miss her dearly.

Razzie appreciation post! This girl is about 8 months old, incredibly soft and fluffy, and is searching for her forever family. She’s quite the shy pup and will take some time to feel safe and comfortable with her new humans (someone must have been unkind in her past life). She loves and plays with other dogs. Razzie does wear a diaper, but don’t let that scare you! Once you get in the routine of feeding time and changing time it’s really no big deal. She’s very unique and absolutely melted my heart.

Winston and Albany, they could be brother and sister - they get along so good. Little meet and greet today, a chance to meet possible adoption families and meet supporters. Time for a Koa update!! Today marks one week that Koa has been with SCBR. Yesterday, Koa had a vet visit and stayed overnight to get some extra care. Koa was so excited today when he heard foster dad Mike’s voice and even more excited to be back home. His eyes are still closed and he continues to receive treatment. His wounds are being flushed and cleaned several times a day. He takes his medication like a champ. Thank you to Dr Steven Butchko and staff for the wonderful care they have given Koa. Thank you to Kathy and Mike for your dedication to Koa - He knows he is safe and loved. More updates next week.😊 Koa means “brave”.❤️

Lila, the most adorable girl is visiting Dr. Shayda today for sniffles! Such a sweet girl and hard to believe she still needs a home! Only a dog! Unknown with cats. Very attentive with people.

Puppies "Born To be wild".. Puppies update! Getting some outdoor time every day, along with exposure to new and interesting things!

Mama Katy is starting to play and "teach" her little ones the rules life. No matter how much her pups bite or chew, she gently corrects them just enough to teach them "there are limits."
