The needs for LA fires changes rapidly and as we are putting together hundreds of feeding stations for the boots on the ground we are asking for your help!
Our newest immediate need are water storage cubes 2.6 gal.
These are vital in getting water to the feeding stations that are being checked daily.

Tree roots and stumps can smolder for along time. Trees that have been burned can have branches that fall.

Treat the ash, debris, etc as toxic. Do not touch unless you have gloves on. They can be kitchen gloves - something to create a barrier with your skin.

Treat all power lines as active - do not drive over them, do not walk on them, etc. Report them to a local authority.

Breathe. Pace. When we rush, we get hurt. This will not be easy.

Thank you to the incredible Search and Rescue teams coming in to work the LA Fires.

With help from INABA Premium Cat & Dog Treats we were able to provide a case of treats for each of eleven heroic K9s this morning before starting their tedious searches. We also included some portable water bowls and booties.
Oh…and our amazing Debbie and Digna thought they needed big stuffy purple ducks too! Apparently, they were right.

This will help assist the boots on the ground looking for missing pets.

Please remember when you are looking for your pet in the “found” section that photos can be misleading. Pets coming out of a fire zone can be covered with ash- masking their true colors and markings. Pets will be injured as well and it might make them difficult to recognize.

If you have lost your pet- do not give up. There will be thousands displaced and it will take time finding them.

For all you avid keyboard warriors wanting something to do- you can go through the data bases of lost and found and try to match up pets. Many are reunited this way.

Thank you all for your out-pour of offers to help and donate.

Our focus is on helping the many small Animal Rescues who are flooded with animals they are pulling from the shelters and even more that will pour in from search and rescue from the burn areas.

This effort is just beginning. Our rescue groups are not funded and receive little in donations so helping them with supplies eases some of their burdens and allows them to save more animals.

Right now we are bracing for what is coming and will be on-going for at least a year with the rescue community.

Our biggest needs this week are:
Potty Pads
Slip leads
Stainless bowls
Zip ties
Trash Bags
Large foil Roasting Pans
Thin blankets

This list will continually change as the relief efforts shift.
We have also posted QR Codes and info to our affiliates who’s products we use regularly and are perfect for our disaster relief efforts.

Delivered today…Emergency pet supplies to who is taking in pets from the fires. If you had to evacuate and need a place for your pets they are providing help. They are amazing.

Thank you all for the outpouring of offers to help and donations. LA County has taken in so many donations at the centers and shelters, they are quite full which is great. We are now focusing on the many rescue groups with fosters that have lost their homes and supplies to fires and the rescues taking in extra animals from the fires and evacuees with pets. This will be a long term effort.

We have never seen the Southern California community ban together in such a monumental force. And all the communities outside of the area coming in to help.

We are all so grateful for our first responders and our hearts go out to all the humans and animals that are affected by this devastation.

CAT FOOD RECALL: Voluntary Recall of Northwest Naturals Brand 2lb Feline Turkey Recipe Raw Frozen Pet Food Due to HPAI Contamination

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-December 24, 2024

Portland, Oregon, Northwest Naturals is voluntarily recalling one batch of Northwest Naturals brand 2lb Feline Turkey Recipe raw frozen pet food after it was tested positive for highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) virus.

Consumption of raw or uncooked pet food contaminated with HPAI can cause illness in animals. To date, one case of illness in a domestic cat has been reported in connection with this issue.

The recalled product is packaged in 2-pound plastic bags with “Best if used by” dates of 05/21/26 B10 and 06/23/2026 B1. The product was sold through distributors in AZ, CA, CO, FL, GA, IL, MD, MI, MN, PA, RI and WA in the United States, and British Columbia in Canada.

This recall is being conducted in cooperation with the Oregon Department of Agriculture, Salem, Oregon.

Consumers who have purchased the recalled product should immediately discard the product and contact the place of purchase for a full refund.

We always get asked “What’s the number one change people can do to help fix the dog and cat over population crisis?” While spay and neutering is certainly an instant help, educating our next generations on how to be compassionate, caring, loving, hard-working humans are tomorrows answer. This young man from @furryflightstofreedom popped in to pick up supplies for his rescue dogs and stayed for hours helping us load the truck and do other warehouse chores. He said it was FUN! Imagine a world 10 years from now if all kids this age now were taught that helping others and loving animals is FUN. SpoofDawg to the Rescue is a 501c3 non profit that aims to be a bridge to vital supplies, funds and resources for Animal Rescues in need. Through our efforts, these dedicated organizations can be alleviated of fundraising burdens thus allowing imperative time to better assist abandoned and abused animals they rescue and care for. Together, one paw at a time, we can work towards ultimately ending euthanasia.
