We are beyond grateful for David Lackey, our amazing volunteer IT guru, who has been a true lifeline for Orangeburg SPCA. Despite relocating, David continues to ensure our 24/7, 360-degree surveillance system stays up to date and that any IT issues are promptly resolved—all as a volunteer!

Thanks to David’s dedication, our shelter remains a safe space for both our animals and staff, and his efforts help hold the community accountable when needed. His commitment to ensuring constant protection gives us peace of mind and allows us to focus on what matters most: caring for the animals.

🛍️ Two Weeks to Go! 🐾

The countdown is on—our Orangeburg SPCA Monthly Yard Sale is just two weeks away, and we’re getting everything ready for an amazing day! 🎉

🗓️ When: Saturday, February 1, 9 AM - 3 PM
📍 Where: 225 Ruf Road, Orangeburg, SC 29118

This month’s yard sale proceeds will go directly toward our heartworm program, a vital initiative that allows us to test, treat, and keep our shelter dogs on prevention to ensure they’re healthy and ready for their forever homes. 🐶💕

We’ll have tables full of treasures—clothing, books, toys, and household goods—all at great prices! And remember, we’re still accepting donations. If you have gently used items to contribute, please drop them off at the shelter this week or next.

The Best Help Comes With Tiny Paws! 🐾

Cleaning the kitten rooms is always an adventure here at Orangeburg SPCA! We’re so lucky to have the best little helpers on the job—our adorable kittens! While they might get a bit distracted chasing mop strings, pouncing on dustpans, or curling up for snuggles, they’re the kind of distractions we’ll happily take any day.

They remind us to find joy in the little things and never take life too seriously (unless it’s snack time). Who wouldn’t want to work with such playful and cuddly coworkers?

At the end of this month, we will be saying goodbye to our amazing Assistant Director, Dakota Tyson, as she embarks on an exciting new chapter with bigger opportunities ahead. While we are so proud of her and excited for what’s to come, it’s hard to imagine our days without her here.

Dakota has poured her heart and soul into caring for our animals, and it’s safe to say they will miss her as much as we will. 🐾 Her passion, dedication, and love have left a lasting impact on everyone at the shelter—both two- and four-legged friends alike.

Though it won’t be the same without her, we are so glad she promises to come back for visits. Dakota, you will always be a part of our family, and we can’t wait to see the incredible things you accomplish. Thank you for everything you’ve done—you’ve truly made a difference. ❤️

Even though we’re over capacity, our amazing kennel techs, Savannah and James, are ensuring that every furbaby gets the same deep-clean treatment—whether they’re in the front crates or the shelter kennels. 💪🐶
