Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter

Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter Animal Control Officers do NOT monitor this page; if you have an issue that needs immediate attention, please call the shelter. Thank you in advance.

Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter serves the citizens of Orangeburg County South Carolina, helps to educate the public and enforce County ordinances on animal welfare. Orangeburg County Animal Control and Shelter is responsible for picking up animals in the county that are lost or homeless. We strive to get animals into rescues by working with rescue groups to find placement of these an

imals. We work to ensure that animals in the entire county are being treated properly and this includes investigating cruelty charges and working with law enforcement to prosecute these cases. Please note that this shelter does not adopt to the public, but if you’re interested in one of our animals, we invite you to fill out an adoption application through a 501c-3 rescue or local rescue such as the Orangeburg SPCA and they will review your adoption process from there.

Does anyone recognize me?
I was picked up and brought to the shelter after I was reportedly chasing people down in Holly Hill as they walked down the streets. I wasn't trying to be mean but I didn't recognize these tall strangers at all.
I had found a nice little boy a few weeks back and followed him home where they fed me and gave me a warm place to stay because I seemed to be lost. I had a collar on but no tags or microchip to help identify my owners.
These nice people at the shelter gave me the name Andromeda for now but hopefully I won't have to stay here for too long.
Can anyone help me once my 5-day stray hold is up if no one comes forward to claim me?? Please reach out to our office at 803.534.0045 or email [email protected].

Tips about TNR - Trap Neuter Return - Program.

This diagram shows how you can tell if you have a male or female cat in your neighborhood and if it is spayed or neutered. If the cat has been in the TNR program, the veterinarian will have tipped the ear. If the cat has a collar, it may belong to someone and already be fixed.

We promote the community to look into TNR to help keep healthy community cats out of the shelter.

We have had a few of these come in the mail and they are AMAZING! We know it is not ideal to house dogs in crates but we do not have any where else to put them. We would love to get as many as possible so we can put all our crated dogs in them. The smaller size is great for our small dogs and puppies. The bigger size is perfect for our adult dogs!

We appreciate all of you that donated ones!

We could really use some of the cages to help with the housing issues that we are having at the shelter. These cages are easier to clean and move around, also allowing more space for the dogs to move around. Can anyone help us?

These boys came in on 8/25/2023 and finally have the chance to break out of the shelter.
Look at their TRANSFORMATION!
Apparently, they were left for 7 days to fend for themselves, but we believe it was longer. When officers arrived, the first pictures are what they saw. HOW HORRIBLE! BUT, they are healthy and thick as potatoes now. We are so sad to see them leave but beyond happy to know they will be SAFE FOREVER! Happy Endings on this Transformation Tuesday.

RESCUED ❤️
Does anyone recognize me? I was running around in the Spinx gas station parking lot! I don't have a microchip or collar but I may have gotten lost from my family.
I look to be around ~1 year old and a Terrier mix.

Call 803-707-4662 if this dog looks familiar to you.

Must have proof of ownership. We gave him the name Venice for now but hopefully someone does recognize him.
