I am delighted to introduce Moriah, the newest member of our team. Moriah's timing could not have been better, and she has quickly become an integral part of the salon and the care we provide to the animals. She will be assuming a grooming preparation role, which will enable her to interact with many of our clients' pets during the bathing process.

Moriah's dedication to pursuing a career working with animals has been evident over the past year, during which time she has been working diligently towards her goals. Although grooming is not her long-term career aspiration, she has lofty ambitions for herself in the field of contract detection work with her two Belgian Malinois, Zasha and Xannos.

Many of you may have already met Moriah during her first month with us, and we would like to take this opportunity to officially welcome her to the Bella Pooch Family.

As Jackie departs to pursue a new opportunity with the county, I want to express my gratitude for her 4 1/2 years of dedicated service to the salon. Her exceptional grooming skills have fostered lasting relationships with clients. To minimize disruption, we have transferred her scheduled appointments to either Jessica or myself. ✨It’s THAT time of year again!!!…we are opening our sign ups for reoccurring schedules for 2025 ✨

We will start putting the schedules together in November so you can either sign up when we see you at your next grooming appointment or text the salon 503-732-5948 with the following information…

1) your first and last name
2) your dogs name
3) your desired frequency
4) your day and time preferred
5) if you have a specific stylist request
6) the phone number in which you want your schedule sent

We look forward to loving your babies in 2025!❤️

We get asked our opinion a lot about this controversial subject. I found this information very interesting. Many of our local vets have different options as well. I appreciated the studies on specific breed because not every breed or s*x is the same. Oso, my Australian Shepherd, will be 2 at the end of the month and is scheduled for his neuter next month. Because we started obedience at 5 months and he hasn’t shown any behavioral issues or aggression, I have waited to make sure his body is fully developed before altering his hormones.

New research has redefined the best age to spay/neuter five large dog breeds. Delaying the procedure can prevent joint disorders and certain cancers.

UPDATE: we just got the all-clear. The salon will be open tomorrow unless otherwise indicated. Thank you for your prayers and well wishes 💓

I wanted to give an update since we have so many wonderful, caring clients. My property has been on level 2 fire evacuation since early hours of this morning. The salon is closed today since the roads are closed and no way around. We can use your prayers for the fire team and everyone’s safety ❤️

Fuzzy was adopted by a new family and was in rough shape when he came to them. Unfortunately, the most humane way to groom him was to shave off the severe matting and start the coat fresh. We do not like to do this unless absolutely necessary due to the possibility of coat damage. He came back in for a bath and tidy which helps encourage healthy coat growth. We used our silk protein shampoo and conditioner and his coat feels amazing! His coat is growing back strong and healthy!
