Current National Forest Service Policy states that you need to be a certified Sawyer to cut logs as part of organized trail cleanup. So, for those of us who want to be able to help clear trails where that might include cutting logs to remove them from the trails we love, we need to ensure that someone on our work crews is certified for that work.
**A current First Aid and CPR certification is required to attend the field portions of this event and for saw certifications to be valid.**
So, it would be best to get your First Aid/CPR certification before the sawyer training.
