UPDATE: Oh my gosh! I forgot the most important information for this post, the Thank You! Thank you to Dog Fanciers Association of Oregon for making the initial significant investment in purchasing the first ring of turf. And a HUGE Thank You To Portland Agility Club for voting to approve the purchase of the second ring of turf from the Endowment fund graciously entrusted to the club by Janet Mendel-Hartvig.

Make your plans now to come to the 2025 Rose City Classic at the Portland Expo Center. Why you might ask? Because we have TWO RINGS OF TURF!!!! That’s right, we now have TWO 100’ x 100’ rings of the fabulous SynLawn Artificial Turf. That also means we’ll have 2 judges (Tracy Mazur and Jim Primmer), all the classes, plus ISC on Friday and Saturday. Four days of agility on January 16-19, 2025, indoors, warm and Real Bathrooms!

This turf received great reviews from this past show in January 2024. The dogs loved it!! They could really dig in and run fast with no slipping. And our local canine chiropractor was impressed with how little adjustments the dogs needed in comparison to running on other surfaces.

And the Final Table Fault in the Exc/Master Class goes to ..................... Tru and Josette Hollingsworth! And he did it in spectacular fashion.

At the Emerald Dog Obedience Club trial last weekend we gave an award to the dog that performed the final table fault ever in the Exc/Master Class. Thanks to Jill Faulmann for the beautiful tote bad.

I'm not sure if I say congratulation or shame? LOL

We did it!! It's taken some time but I finally have my own K-9 Sports Online Entry Form and it's live TODAY! The trials that are using this new form will have a link to it on their page in the Event Calendar. The form should be easy and pretty self explanatory. Once you complete the form and click submit it will send you to PayPal to make your payment.

This is in a beautiful location with a great club. They work all year to keep tabs on the field and footing for the dog sports they host at this location. And there are a ton of fun places to eat but if you are dry camping on the site you can walk to a grocery store ( that matter to dog people)

Are you interested in learning about the new AKC FETCH Titling program? Come to Clark County Fairgrounds this Saturday, June 8th, at Noon, to see a Demo and even try it out. You'll want to enter at the Purple Gate off of 2nd Ave, just like you're coming to the agility trial. The FETCH will be held in the Llama Greenway. This is the grass area located between the two animal buildings behind and East of the horse arena. We'll help you find it if you're not sure where it is.

Learn about AKC’s newest titling program. Watch a demo and then practice with your dog. Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced levels will be available to practice. Fetch match is $5.00 for 4 retrieves.

At the Novice level, the dog must perform three 30’single retrieves past 4 distractions under 2 different judges to earn a title. A bumper, ball, or toy like a Wubba is used for the retrieve.

At the Intermediate level, the dog must perform four 50’ single retrieves past 8 distractions under 2 different judges to earn a title. A bumper, ball, or toy like a Wubba is used for the retrieve.

At the Advanced level, the dog must perform 2 single retrieves and 2 double retrieves, all 70’ retrieves, under 2 judges for a title. A fetch “steward” drops the bumper or ball behind blinds. A bumper or ball is used for the retrieve.

To ALL LANE COUNTY RESIDENTS AND THOSE THAT ENJOY THE LANE EVENTS CENTER.

The attached photo has information pertaining to the proposed new baseball stadium for the PRIVATELY OWNED Franchise. The construction proposal includes demolition of the Livestock Building that we use for agility. Many other events are also held in this lovely building.

The Ems owner has been advertising heavily and falsely stating that the Livestock Arena is a decrepit old building that needs to come down anyway. This is simply not true. In fact, it is the YOUNGEST building on the entire Fairgrounds.

Elmore Sports Group is a for-profit Corporation, and yet, they are seeking public funds to help pay for their seasonal facility. There is a measure on the ballot seeking public approval for funding for this stadium. Those of us who use the Livestock Arena implore you to PLEASE VOTE NO!

Imagine the traffic in your small neighborhoods. What will happen to the Lane County Fair? What about all the 4-H programs? Where will livestock be housed during fire season? What about all the small businesses that rent the Livestock Arena to hold their events? Do we not matter? Is it only about the success of Corporations? Why can't they build their stadium in a location that doesn't affect us small businesses? Why do they have to take away from so many just to fill it with more commercial entities? And why do they need TAXPAYER FUNDS?

THERE HAS TO BE A MORE SUITABLE LOCATION FOR THEM TO BUILD.

Unfortunately, due to circumstance beyond their control, the Mt Bachelor Kennel Club had to cancel the June trial for 2024 ONLY. They agreed to let EDOC fill the gap by adding this agility trial in Eugene for 2024 only. THANKS MBKC!!!

PSA from my personal FB page ~ I will be on vacation starting tomorrow (Saturday) morning and will be gone for 10 days. This means I won't be getting mail. I won't be processing any entries. I might answer an email and even maybe the phone, but don't be surprised if you don't reach me.
Did I say..... I'M ON VACATION?!
So, agility exhibitors, don't expect any entry confirmations. I'll be home Monday, April 22nd and will catch up on entries at that time.
Looking forward to a great sight-seeing trip to the Grand Canyon, swinging around by Pismo Beach, and then on to the NorCal Beardie trial with my CA buddies. That's gonna be a super fun trial getting to run Crinkle and she gets to meet new friends, Shimi and Katherine Lai.
