Some information about e-collars!
I’m not sure how many people know but my dogs actually have e-collars! My big dog, hazel has had one for almost 1.5 years! And my little dog, Danny I got one for Christmas (probably my favorite present)!
I am not an expert! So this is just a little bit of information to help everyone understand what they are and how they help! I can’t explain all the reasons they help but they have made my life much easier! I recommend reaching out to a trainer if your ever interested!
And Instagram won’t let me add audio😭 so I’m sorry that there is some weird audio in one clip! I recorded during family games night🤣

I recently finished up doing lessons with Russ and eddy! This was my first time training dogs other than my own! I learned a lot from this expirence and I’m so grateful for this opportunity! We worked on learning place, heel, sit stays, downstays, and some recall! I Unfortunately do not have any before videos of eddy but I had some of russ from when I last watched him! Using the prong collar there was clear communication of what I was asking for and it helped to hold them accountable!
Place- we worked on place, which helps a lot because it is similar to doggy meditation! Place reminds dogs that they need to relax! Giving your dog a job helps them because then they don’t find their own job! Place can also help dogs work on impulse control! These dogs did amazing learning place! By the end I was able to walk away, drop food on the ground and the stayed on their bed!
Heel- we worked on heel which is teaching them to walk slightly behind me on my left side! They both did so amazing learning this! They both are understanding auto sits, which means when I stop they sit! They made so much progress in their walk!
Sitstays and downstays- we worked on sit stays and downstays! This means when I say sit or down they are expected to stay until I say their release word (break). This was one of the hardest things for them to do! But we worked on it and even if they made mistakes I got them back to where they need to be
Recall- we didn’t do much recall work but we did work on going from sit to come and place to come! They understood and were very enthusiastic about it! With the limited amount of recall work they did great! What is important is that they understand what it means!
I will be watching them again soon and I’m so excited to focus on state of mind!
