I wish I didn't have to do this, but someone is threatening me.

I am just a fan. This is JUST a page to reminisce. I only took the picture that is the cover pic. I took it from my car while parked on Harmony Road.

The rest of the pictures I lifted from another page to share them here. I haven't stepped foot onto White Pines Deer Park property since I was little.

I am a law abiding citizen (ok, a couple speeding tickets), ogle county tax payer, parent, volunteer, small business owner, etc.

I am friends of friends of the person who sent this, and his buddy who is also questioning my identity.

I am friends with a Lawson.

My identity is no secret, but I don't need to be harassed by anyone.

Have a fabulous day and weekend.

I remember going there buying the pellets in the ice cream cones and feeding it to the animals. Usually grandma took me there on a Friday afternoon and then I spent the rest of the weekend at her house.

Just a reminder. This is a MEMORY & FAN page. The park isn't open and hasn't been for several years. I created it because I had many cherished memories growing up and going to it.
If you have any memories or pictures please feel free to post them. We would all love to reminisce.

Please share your memories and pictures for all to enjoy and reminisce.

Hey Lawson bunch - If you see this - Maybe you can confirm for me: Did the Lake LaDonna owners purchase the Deer Park land recently? I thought I saw something about it somewhere.

Lake LaDonna owner dies in accident

Vinde Wells
OREGON – The owner of a well-known Ogle County campground lost his life in a snowmobile crash in northern Wisconsin last week. Anthony F. Capaci, 39, of Elgin, died Friday when his snowmobile collided with a snowplow at 10:24 a.m. in Hurley, Wis., which borders the upper peninsula of Michigan.

Capaci owned Lake LaDonna Family Campground on Harmony Road southwest of Oregon. He bought the campground from Lamont and Veronica Gaston in 2010.
According to the website of the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, Capaci was traveling on a marked snowmobile trail in the city of Hurley, ran a stop sign and struck the snowplow.
He was pronounced dead at Grand View Hospital, Iron County Sheriff Tony Furyk said. He released no further details.
Several attempts to reach a spokesperson at Lake LaDonna were unsuccessful.
Capaci’s funeral was Wednesday at Miller Funeral Home in West Dundee. Survivors include his wife, Stacie, and their three sons, Vincent, Julian, and Ethan.

It's been a hot one this year. What are you doing to stay cool?

06/11/2010

hi everyone! How's your summer going? Where are you vacationing? Are you going on "stay-cations" and do you have any recommendations for Northern Illinois, or anywhere else?

05/24/2010

what do you think of Lake LaDonna changing ownership? I haven't been there in years. Are any of you regulars? What do you think of the changes being made/proposed? I'm just curious, not trying to start anything.

Thank you all for joining. Invite your friends, share your memories, post your pics. the last time I was there I think my age was still in single digits. The best thing I remember is Grandma taking me there, and getting the cones w/ pellets to feed the animals
