It’s almost that time of year! 🇺🇸🎆
Every year in the days following The 4th of July (and also New Year’s) we get dozens of phone calls from frantic owners looking for their missing pets that ran away during fireworks. Many pets-usually, but not exclusively dogs-are terrified of the loud noises of fireworks (and thunder) which causes them to panic and behave in destructive ways that is not their typical behavior.
In order to be prepared for this, many pet owners request to have a sedative on hand for their pet. We get several dozens of requests for this medication each holiday, and it requires record reviews in order to calculate the proper dosing of the sedative, which is a process which takes time.
In an effort to streamline the process and get as many requests processed as we can before the holiday rolls around, we ask that owners call the office at 530-865-4478 before 6/26/24 to place their orders. Orders placed after 6/26/24 will not be processed prior to 7/4/24.
The medication is available in the office for pickup, or through our online store which can ship right to your door for convenience. When you call the office to place your request just let us know if you’re picking up in the office or would like the prescription emailed to you for our online store.

FOUND DOG! On County Road M in Orland, between Roads 20 & 21 at around 4pm today, Wednesday 10/25/23. Good Samaritan cannot keep, will have to call animal control to take them up to shelter in Red Bluff soon. Intact male frenchie, wearing collar. If you recognize this pup, please have the owner call us ASAP 530-865-4478 so we can get him back home before he has to ride up to Red Bluff

ATTENTION!! We will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday of next week: 10/18 & 10/19. Our doctor will be attending a conference out of town so we will also be unavailable for emergencies. We will be open again on Friday 10/20, and we will be open for vaccine appointments or emergencies on Saturday 10/21. We apologize for any inconveniences!

Please be aware that the storm last night knocked out our phone lines and our internet. If you need anything or have questions that can’t wait until Tuesday, please come down to the office in person. A technician is supposed to be coming out this afternoon to fix the problem. Hopefully the problem will be resolved before the long weekend commences. Happy Memorial Day weekend! 😜

Anyone missing a kitty? This little sweetheart was found in the intersection by Pilot and Speedway in Orland, and has injuries consistent with being hit by a car. He’s resting safely here at our office if anyone is looking for him. 530-865-4478

Six has been found and is home with her family!

Sweet Six went missing Thursday afternoon 09/08. She had just had a bath and unfortunately didn’t have her collar back on. She does not have a microchip. Six is a super friendly dog, she is a little over a year and a half old. If you see her please reach out to Orland Veterinary Hospital at 530-865-4478. Her family loves her needs to get their sweet her home!
