I’d like to remind everyone:
Anyone who willfully abandons an animal is guilty of a misdemeanor punishable by a fine of $1000 and up to 6 months in jail. (CA Penal Code Section 597s.)
I understand kittens can be hard to care for but it doesn’t mean you should dump them. I once again, had kittens dumped at my rescue. I’d like to make this very clear…this is ILLEGAL. I do have cameras now and I will start reporting those caught on camera dumping. It is not only unfair to all parties involved who had no say but extremely dangerous. They don’t know their surroundings. They don’t know to avoid streets. I am extremely fortunate to have dogs that are cat friendly, but someone may not have such luck if given to the wrong person.
I am still wheelchair bound and not taking any animals for at least another 4 weeks. So PLEASE don’t dump. This is extremely difficult for me to stand by but I can’t get better if I’m continually trying to trap feral cats and scared kittens. Thank you to all who support the correct ways of animal surrendering!
