Holiday reminder 🎄salt dough ornaments are fun to make however they can cause serious health problems for pets. The high levels of salt can make them tasty to curious animals. They can cause vomiting and high levels of sodium in the blood which can lead to seizures and even death. Keep these ornaments out of reach of your pets or look for a safer recipe if you’re planning to make them. If you suspect an accidental ingestion call your veterinarian right away.

With Thanksgiving right around the corner let’s talk about some do’s and don’ts for including family pets in the feast. 🦃 Make sure garbage is secured and food waste is removed from the house to reduce temptation 🦃 Instruct guests not to feed scraps during the meal so you can control what they consume 🦃 Set up a pet friendly zone away from the kitchen and guests so your pets can relax safely during meal preparation 🦃 If you are traveling with your pet be prepared in case of an emergency by locating your nearest emergency veterinarian
