Cash is great at catching items, however, first time I tossed this bouquet at him (weeks in advance), to my surprise, it hit him right in the face and he was later apprehensive of catching it. My advice to anyone getting married and wanting your pups to be a part of your big day is to make sure to practice beforehand! And at the end of the day, have fun, no pressure! It’s your big day!

I love so much about this training session! 1. Senior ladies Lulu and Penny patiently waiting for their treat for quiet. 2. Sophie in training mode! That kid loves learning. 3. I tend to be pretty lax on most rules, but one thing that doesn’t fly in my home is: dogs begging at the table. When humans are eating, dogs are not allowed by the table or eating area. This rule is for safety and for the prevention of resource guarding (dogs will be dogs). The “go to bed” or “place” cue keep the pups away from the table. We feed the dogs separately and they “place” for bones or if humans are eating. This is important for me as I don’t want reoccurring dog fights over food or resources to sour my dogs bond and relationship. Prevention is key. In the end, they get a scrap or two for waiting patiently. #dogish#dogishtraining#dogtraining

Firework season is coming. Now is a good time to make sure your fences are secured, anti-anxiety prescriptions are filled, and tags and microchips are up to date. Make sure your dog has a safe place, and if your pups come to you for reassurance, go ahead and comfort them, you won’t be reinforcing their fear. #dogish #dogishtraining #dogtraining #fireworks
