Our very own Pedro, a beloved old man of our overnight tech Jay. He watches over those who are hospitalized, and perks up their spirits with the Pedro song.

Vernon is a 10 year old Miniature Pinscher who presented to AVC's internal medicine for possible liver mass and pancreatitis. Vernon (who is typically quite food motivated) has lost his appetite and has developed vomiting over the past week.
Ultrasound showed an enlarged liver without active pancreatitis currently. However, there were shadowing material within his stomach (which can be food, but because Vernon was fasted for his appointment, we were concerned for a foreign body).
Endoscopy showed a large amount of foreign material in the stomach! Using endoscopic graspers, we were able to safely remove the material without surgery. Vernon was able to go home after a few hours and is doing great at home!
Vet techs Jen and Tay are role playing during training and navigating empathetic communication with clients during a difficult mock case.
We're getting close! A few finishing touches and then we'll be moving in our diagnostic equipment and exam tables. We are soooooooo excited to bring some relief to all the veterinarians in the area who are in such need!
