Drumroll, please… Our December Patient Spotlight goes to... Maarva! This sweet girl arrived to our office with a wagging tail and an overflowing heart full of love. Adopted by her furr-ever family as a puppy, she showed no signs of heart trouble . . . until her first check-up. That’s when her primary veterinarian detected a level 3 (out of 6) heart murmur that would change everything.
After undergoing heart surgery last month, Maarva’s story took a dramatic turn – what as her diagnosis? What is she doing now? Check out our December newsletter to discover her incredible journey!
Offering hope and healing, with less risk and recovery time than traditional surgeries, CFVC has officially started seeing patients for the Mitral Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair surgery in the state of Florida (and beyond). This revolutionary procedure is poised to redefine the future of veterinary cardiology care, setting a new standard in the fight against heart disease. This innovative minimally invasive procedure changes the way certain heart conditions are treated across the entire U.S.
This month Dr. Bofler performed the surgeries partnering with a team of highly skilled surgeons in our Clermont location at @kineticvetspecialists The Mitral Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair surgery allows for faster recoveries, less risk, and a future where heart disease no longer has to mean the end. The world of veterinary care will never be the same again. We are excited to have this opportunity and to be able to share the hope with our CFVC and beyond.

Let’s talk blood pressure! Taking blood pressure measurements in our patients is important for various reasons and is a valuable tool in our practice. It helps us in providing appropriate guidance to diagnose and manage various health conditions. Just like humans, hypertension (high blood pressure) can occur in dogs and cats and can lead to a vast array of health issues. We also like to monitor chronic cardiac conditions through blood pressure numbers. Some medications we use can alter blood pressure numbers, so it is important to get a proper reading after starting certain medications. Blood pressure monitoring can also be part of routine care for our geriatric patients.

🐾🌟Meet Charlie – our January Patient Spotlight!🌟🐾
Charlie came to our clinic with potential heart and lung issues. There is no way to completely know her past (she was a rescue), but her story serves as a reminder that a few minor changes in the house may help our patients breathe and live better!
Environmental factors and the impact on our fur babies go hand in hand. Candles, smoking, and other factors may impact your fur baby in the long run! Check out or January newsletter for more information on how you can make an impact on your fur baby’s health by making just a few minor changes!
