Let’s talk blood pressure! Taking blood pressure measurements in our patients is important for various reasons and is a valuable tool in our practice. It helps us in providing appropriate guidance to diagnose and manage various health conditions. Just like humans, hypertension (high blood pressure) can occur in dogs and cats and can lead to a vast array of health issues. We also like to monitor chronic cardiac conditions through blood pressure numbers. Some medications we use can alter blood pressure numbers, so it is important to get a proper reading after starting certain medications. Blood pressure monitoring can also be part of routine care for our geriatric patients.

Our May Patient Spotlight goes to the adorable Savannah! Savannah came to our office after developing a cough and intermittent episodes of breathing troubles, which led to her being admitted to the ICU. With a suspected heart condition, her dad called our office and was able to get her seen right away for a cardio workup. Did you hear? We are now seeing patients in Clermont! We know that when you hear your fur baby could have a cardiac issue, it is important to get you in as quick as we can. Our dedicated team is committed to getting you in as quickly as possible.
Our expansion to Clermont means we can now serve pet owners further west of Orlando, who may wish to avoid the drive to our Longwood office. This new office location provides convenient access to our specialty care. This brand-new facility offers state-of-the-art cardiac surgery equipment as well as other various veterinary medical specialists.

Charlie came to our clinic with potential heart and lung issues. There is no way to completely know her past (she was a rescue), but her story serves as a reminder that a few minor changes in the house may help our patients breathe and live better!

We spent yesterday evening at Oviedo’s Bark and Brew event! It was a beautiful day brimming with opportunities to make new 4-legged friends, reconnect with familiar faces, and visit with our current CFVC patients who made sure to stop by our tent!
The slobbery kisses from all of the beloved fur babies was definitely icing on the cake!
We loved being able to team up with Oviedo PD to demonstrate K9 CPR to the city, it was truly an awesome event! Thank you City of Oviedo for welcoming us with open arms!

Last week we teamed up with another local clinic and had another Lunch and Learn! Thank you Animal Clinic of Windermere for having us! The lunch and Learn events are some of our favorite days during the week. We love breaking bread while talk all things heart and veterinary medicine! These events allow for continuing education and development for all of us, as we bounce ideas, recommendations, and knowledge around the room. We encourage discussion, Q&A sessions, and hands-on learning all while developing relationships with other local clinics.
