Next up: Anubis, the German Shepherd! Anubis belongs to our Assistant Practice Manager, Harley. Anubis enjoys an active life; running agility, playing with his friends, or going to scent detection classes, but his favorite place is wherever his family is. He is a cuddle bug! 🐕🐾

Meet Dr. Ashley Gomes, DVM
We’re thrilled to welcome Dr. Ashley Gomes to the Animal Hospital at Baldwin Park! Dr. Gomes brings a well-rounded and compassionate approach to veterinary medicine, with a deep passion for both traditional and holistic care.
Dr. Gomes began her academic journey at Pierce College before earning her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine. Her diverse experiences and love for travel have given her a broad perspective on animal health and wellness.
Dr. Gomes is especially passionate about integrative medicine. She is currently pursuing her certification in veterinary acupuncture (CVA), expanding our ability to offer holistic and Chinese medicine to our patients. Her commitment to overall health and wellness extends to both her professional practice and personal life—she enjoys staying active, being outdoors, and participating in water sports.
In addition to dogs and cats, Dr. Gomes has a special interest in exotic animal medicine. With her expertise in pocket pets and reptiles, we’re excited to resume care for exotic patients once again!
Dr. Gomes is dedicated to providing thoughtful, individualized care for every animal she sees. We’re excited to have her as part of our team and can’t wait for you to meet her!

☀️ Summer Pet Safety Tip: Don’t shave your pet. Instead, check with a groomer to see if a if a haircut is right for your pet. For some breeds, fur can prevent sunburn and actually keep your pet cool in the summer heat!

🎆 Fireworks Are Coming – Is Your Dog Ready? 🎇

The 4th of July and New Year's Eve are the two days when more dogs go missing than any other time of year. Fireworks can cause overwhelming fear and anxiety for pets leading to shaking, hiding, or even running away in panic.
🐾 If your dog struggles with loud noises, now is the time to contact your veterinarian.
Don’t wait! If calming medications or supplements are needed, it’s important to allow enough time to fill prescriptions and make a plan that works best for your pet.
