Most important lesson: don't ever stop trying. When Hannah first got her prosthesis, she couldn't stand up without help. Now she's not only running all over the place, but she's standing up independently! Keep trying and don't give up!

Meet Deja, the lovely 7 year old ball of energy! She was being her usual active self when one day going into the water she had hurt her knee and suffered from a torn ACL on her back right side. She will be getting a knee brace to aid with support and proper alignment of her joint. She will return in 2 weeks for delivery.

Delivery day for this pretty lady! Our resident Chelsea along with owner Scott and Hannah's dad Chris brainstormed and fabricated Hannah's new leg. She has been such an amazing pitbull - she loves giving kisses and acting like a lap dog. Along with having nearly a shoulder disarticulation, she is having compensatory issues with a winging scapula on her good side. She had to rotate her leg inward just to center to herself over her body. With this setup, she can now stand and gallop with equal weight and less stress on her good shoulder. She will have her first follow up next week to see how she does with this at home!

Dray has returned for the fitting of her prototype socket. Our main concern was whether she'd adjust to having something on her residual limb. As the fitting went on, she got more comfortable with it and it seems like she'll be a great candidate once we make her final prosthesis. Her brother Dari was also here for moral support!

Here is the world's friendliest pitbull, Hanna! A little back story on her: she was dropped at a veterinary hospital with two broken legs and due to how long she had been living with them, they were unable to save the right side. Her owner was contacted through a mutual friend and stepped up to save this sweetheart. If it weren't for the fact you can see she is missing her front leg, her activity level would never give it away. She is the epitome of a hyper puppy with lots of love to give. Stay tuned to see what type of prosthetic system we create for her!

Here we have our newest Pawsitive patient, Dre. Her owner, Patrick, had come across Dray and her brother Dari while in Afghanistan working as a medic for a military contractor. He brought both of them back to his home and we are now in the process of making her a prosthetic leg.
