We love our volunteers! 💕 Thanks to the students from Home of Bright Choices for coming out and volunteering on the farms! We were able to harvest produce for our local food distributions to schools.

Home of Bright Choices, Inc (HBC) is a Parent Driven Organization that serves people with developmental and cognitive disabilities. They are dedicated to improving the lives of individuals with disabilities through education, support and advocacy services. Their goal is to fill gaps in services for individuals with disabilities and empower them to live independently with a high degree of self esteem. 🫶🌿

Another week another great local food distribution with our Harvesting Hope program! 🥕

All of ’s produce is sharecroppers with our amazing farmlette hosts who have donated their yards for community supported agriculture as well as 4 local school communities in West Orlando. Our produce is grown less than 5 miles away and harvest the same day! That means more locally grown produce for our community with a higher nutritional value. 🥬🍒

A peek into our world 🌱

This is our first ever farm plot, started back in 2014. Our program has changed so much since then. We have grown to two cities with more than 20 lawns to micro farms, adopted a new raised row growing model (aiding in crop production with a greater ease of accessing water and nutrients), we grew to grow produce for local school communities in West Orlando, we’ve installed more than 49 school garden and numerous gardens through our service , but our mission is still the same; Grow food! Not lawns. ✌️

This week at West Lakes Early Learning Center, our team got hands-on in the garden with the kids! 🌻✨

We weeded, watered, and explored the wonders of nature—learning about the veggies growing, spotting buzzing pollinators, holding wiggly worms, and even making friends with some ladybugs. 🥕🐞

Every garden lesson is a chance to connect with the earth and inspire the next generation of urban farmers! 🌍💚

Shout out to our Harvesting Hope project and our amazing community participants as we have been able to distribute over 259 lbs of produce since October! This includes local food distributions at West Lakes Early Learning a center as pictured here.

We love to see families take home our produce grown less than 5 miles away. Our participants mentioned roasting veggies and even juicing to incorporate these fresh foods into their diets. 🥕

Come join us at Fleet Farming on March 22nd 9 am- 2 pm for an exciting day of hands-on learning about urban agriculture! Our free training event will cover everything we do to grow food in order to encourage new and existing growers to get active in their local food system.

Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just starting out, this event is perfect for anyone looking to get their hands dirty and learn more about growing food in the city. Starting the year of 2025 off with GROWTH 📈🌱 After our winter break for our team, we kicked off our first Swarm Ride of the year! Occurring every 1st & 3rd Saturday of the month, we come together with our community to grow food for students and families in need. This season is all about greens and root crops! Harvested a bunch of carrots, turnips, kale, and lettuce for our food donation program with 4 local schools. All of the produce is grown less than 5 miles from our school communities, keeping the cycle of food hyper local.
