This March, we're launching Kitten Con, an educational celebration to help our organization and community get ready for Kitten Season!

Each year as the weather warms, thousands of kittens are born outside to community cats. If unprepared, Pet Alliance can be easily overwhelmed with dozens of little ones brought to our doors each day. It takes a true village to ensure a successful Kitten Season and we need your assistance to ensure these resilient babies thrive!

A little guy with a big job! 🐶💙

6-month-old Oleander was adopted by the Canine Companions Southeast Training Center, where he will soon be working alongside aspiring service dogs! This outgoing kitten will provide valuable socialization for the puppies as they learn to perform their tasks in dynamic environments.

Oleander, now named Ollivander, is currently acclimating to his new home and slowly meeting a lot of furry and human friends. We're so proud of this special cat and can't wait to hear about his adventures with Canine Companions!

It's a bird! It's a plane! No, it's BANDIT! 🦸

Bandit's eye spots make her look soooo cool and mysterious, you'd never guess that her true identity is simply a goofy 3-year-old medium-sized shelter dog looking for a fresh start.

Hailing from the Florida panhandle, Bandit recently came to us as a transfer from Gadsden County Animal Services with heartworm disease. Now that we've begun the treatment to help her battle said evil foe, we're hoping to connect this super gal with a new sidekick!

Bandit will need to come back and visit us a few times over the course of the coming months to ensure the heartworm butts are kicked. Never fear, as with all heartworm positive dogs adopted from Pet Alliance, treatment services are included with adoption!

How many toes is too many toes? 🤔

Meet Stella, the polydactyl princess currently holding court in our staff breakroom. This 5-year-old monarch has been nothing but affectionate towards her current subjects, but we're hoping someone reading this would rather relocate her kingdom to their personal living room.

Stella has been in our care since mid-December. While she was initially quite aloof with her new human friends, she has since come out of her shell and seems ready to show her thumbs to the world!

While we think she's positively regal, Stella will need an adopter committed to helping her shed a few of her 19lbs for her longterm wellbeing. Other pets at home? This experienced empress has previously ruled over a household with cats and dogs before!

February is National Pet Dental Health Month! Just like humans, cats and dogs require dental maintenance. 🦷🪥

According to the American Veterinary Association, brushing your pet's teeth should be done at least three times a week, but daily is ideal!

It is also important that your pet's teeth and gums be examined by a vet regularly. There are a variety of afflictions that can plague your animal's mouth, but the most common is periodontal disease.

This Valentine's Day, we're celebrating our very own Pet Alliance love story! 💘

Sunny (light tabby) and Grey (dark tabby) were surrendered to us by a cat colony caretaker after the duo appeared in their neighborhood needing help.

Upon scanning their microchips, we discovered that they were registered. This led us to information that gave us their backstory. The cats were released outside from their previous home after the family member who was caring for them left for college. The two stuck together and had been braving the great outdoors for over a year!

As they settled into the free roam room at the shelter, our staff began to notice that they still barely left each other's side. Their companionship is truly touching and we wish they could tell us about the great adventure they've had!

Since their previous home can no longer accommodate them, we're hoping Sunny and Grey can find a new indoor life together . Sunny has experienced trauma to his left ankle that our shelter veterinary team is helping him manage, but it will require continued special attention after adoption. We're sure with the support of Grey and his new family, he'll be able to overcome his injury!

Our recent foster pets made these adorable Valentines for their temporary families! Aren't they so thoughtful? 💌

Each year, our fosters help us care for over 1,000 cats and dogs! These animals may be in need of extra socialization, healing from an injury or illness, taking a break from the shelter environment, or young kittens and puppies who need to mature before adoption.

Paws in the Park 2025 was one to remember, with $210,421 raised for our organization! 🐾🌴

While we always enjoy watching the sport dogs fly and the Costume Contest participants dazzle, one extra special moment this year was seeing Pet Alliance's longest shelter resident, Rocky, find his new family after more than three months in our care!

Thank you to the thousands of you who attended, fundraised, and donated. It means the world to us, as well as our pets! We'll see you next year.

Meet our longest resident, Rocky! 🐶

Rocky has spent a little over three months in our care, which is a lot of time for a dog that's only just over a year old! He's been having a wonderful time hiking, napping, and being very photogenic in foster care, but he's far overdue for a permanent place to call his own.

This big puppy would do wonderfully in a home of adults and older children who would be enthusiastic about helping him become the best dog he can be through continued training and socialization. He's a quick learner who loves to stay active and perfect new skills with his human friends!
