Our recent foster pets made these adorable Valentines for their temporary families! Aren't they so thoughtful? 💌

Each year, our fosters help us care for over 1,000 cats and dogs! These animals may be in need of extra socialization, healing from an injury or illness, taking a break from the shelter environment, or young kittens and puppies who need to mature before adoption.

Paws in the Park 2025 was one to remember, with $210,421 raised for our organization! 🐾🌴

While we always enjoy watching the sport dogs fly and the Costume Contest participants dazzle, one extra special moment this year was seeing Pet Alliance's longest shelter resident, Rocky, find his new family after more than three months in our care!

Thank you to the thousands of you who attended, fundraised, and donated. It means the world to us, as well as our pets! We'll see you next year.

Meet our longest resident, Rocky! 🐶

Rocky has spent a little over three months in our care, which is a lot of time for a dog that's only just over a year old! He's been having a wonderful time hiking, napping, and being very photogenic in foster care, but he's far overdue for a permanent place to call his own.

This big puppy would do wonderfully in a home of adults and older children who would be enthusiastic about helping him become the best dog he can be through continued training and socialization. He's a quick learner who loves to stay active and perfect new skills with his human friends!

Does your dog need a microchip or updated vaccinations? Check out this upcoming event from our partners at Orange County Animal Services:

**ARM YOUR PET**

Mark your calendars. We are exactly one week away from our next free dog wellness day! On Wednesday, February 5th, we will be hosting our A.R.M. Your Pet event to benefit all Orange County dogs.

This event will include free pet rabies vaccinations and free pet microchipping for Orange County residents. By state law, all dogs are required to have a current rabies vaccination, so this is a chance for our community to protect their dogs by attending this event. And everyone knows a microchip is the most effective way to reunite with your pet if they are ever lost. Providing this service to our community for free will help save lives and keep animals out of the shelter.

🟢 The event will be held at the shelter from 8am to 12pm
🟢 Services are available on a first come, first served basis through the dog carport, while supplies last.
🟢 There is a limit of two dogs per household for these services.
🟢 All dogs must be leashed.
🟢 OCAS may elect to muzzle certain dogs, out of an abundance of caution.
🟢 Pets unable to be safely handled will be refused service.
🟢 Due to health and safety concerns, OCAS will not be able to assist dogs that have had previous vaccine reactions, are experiencing current medical conditions or are reactive (display aggression) toward other pets or people.

This event will be specifically for dogs; a wellness day for cats will also be held later in the month.

At 7-years-old, Cara is proof that "puppy" is a state of mind. She has a very youthful curiosity and a wiggly enthusiasm for every new person she meets! Cara's puppy personality does have its limits, however, as you won't have to go through the trouble of potty training her.

Paws in the Park isn't all fun and games! As the largest pet festival in the country, it also helps our organization raise critical funding to support our mission. 🧡🐾

As a cold snap was settling over Central Florida last November, 3-year-old Chai was giving birth to a litter of puppies. With the temperature rapidly dropping and no adequate indoor housing available for mom and her fragile newborns where they had been previously living, the family was surrendered to Pet Alliance for care.

Chai, along with the newly named Earl, Jasmine, and Boba, spent the next two months in the loving hands of one of our foster volunteers. There, Chai was able to raise her puppies in a safe environment while receiving the nourishment and veterinary care she too desperately needed.

Those who sponsor, fundraise, and attend Paws in the Park are vital partners in helping Pet Alliance provide second chances for pets like the Tea pups. So while we look forward to the main event on February 8 at Lake Eola Park, we also look forward to celebrating the overwhelming support of our community.

Check out this glow up! 🐱🪄

5-year-old Minino had been living outdoors in a community where pets weren't allowed inside, surviving on table scraps from well-meaning residents. He was brought to us with hopes for a fresh start, but would first need to overcome an upper respiratory infection and sarcoptic mange, also known as scabies.

After a few weeks in foster care receiving treatment for his ailments, Minino has made a miraculous transformation and is finally ready to find a home of his very own! He loves scratching cardboard, mealtime, and all the other lovely amenities that his new life indoors has offered.
