The Santana Fund

The Santana Fund Since 2006, the Santana Fund has financially assisted over 200 families and raised over $180,000

In today's tough economy, veterinarians as a group are finding that many pets are often unable to receive the life-saving care that they need due to their owners' financial situation. One of the most heart-wrenching parts of our job as veterinary professionals is to see a pet euthanized or go untreated due to financial constraints. The Santana Fund was established to help in just these situations.

Through charitable donations from our hospital, staff, and caring clients, we have been able to accumulate money to help multiple patients receive the specialty care that they needed, but their owners were financially unable to provide. If you are interested in adding to The Santana Fund, feel free to contact us via Facebook or in the office. The Santana Fund was created by Dr. Karen Bohon and the health care team at the Animal Hospital of Orleans to provide financial assistance for the proper and necessary medical care of sick patients of the Animal Hospital of Orleans or strayed Cape Cod animals. In memory of Dr. Karen Bohon's first dog, the Santana Fund exists to provide an alternative to euthanasia and preserve the importance of the human-animal bond.
