We are sad to announce the resignation of our beloved and long time practice manager, Barbara van Deijck. Barbara has been the heart and soul and glue that has held Pet Street together since its inception. While she may not be here in the hospital everyday, her legacy and vision for extraordinary patient care and exceptional client relations will still be practiced by the entire team. We wish Barbara the very best in the next chapter of her life!

📸 👻Clients who have appointments with their pet(s) tomorrow, Wednesday or Thursday (October 29th, 30th and 31st, 2024) and visit us with their pet(s) in a Halloween costume can have their pet(s) picture taken at the clinic. We will post the pictures on Facebook and the pet with the most likes will win a free exam with one of our doctors.

Winner will be announced on November 1st, 2024.

Duke’s big day with Dr. Williams and Tiffany 💙 Ever wonder what a neuter procedure entails? The doctor will start canine neuters with a single incision in front of the scrotum, then push the testes up from the scrotum individually to remove them. Once externalized, the vessels and spermatic cord are clamped using forceps that crush the tissue and vasculature to help prevent bleeding. Developed testes will have extra fat around them for protection, as pictured. From there, the vessels and cord are tied off with absorbable suture material, and then cut away from the body. Once both are removed, the doctor will check for bleeding and then stitch the incision up. A very straightforward and routine procedure where they go home on the same day! A cold laser treatment will be done on the incision site following the procedure to aid with reducing inflammation and promote healing. Healing can take a while, just like in humans. This is why your doctor strongly advises strict rest for at least two weeks and for your baby to wear an e-collar at all times. While many of our four-legged furriends hate wearing the cone-of-shame; it is very important to keep on to prevent infection and bleeding from licking and chewing.
