What’s the scoop with the vet always looking at your dog or cats poop?!? 💩
🪱 INTESTINAL PARASITES! 🪱
Parasites are more common than we would like to think in our furry friends. We see and treat for intestinal parasites on a daily basis. Intestinal parasites can be picked up in your pets environment, like walks in the neighborhood and dog parks. Some parasites are considered zoonotic, meaning they can infect people and animals.
What can we do? Routine fecal examinations are a great place to start to see if there are any active infections. 🔬 We also recommend keeping your pet on a monthly heartworm prevention like Heartgard which treats some types of intestinal parasites.
Did you know that most heartworm preventions have a product guarantee? If a pet has been on the same heartworm prevention consistently and has a documented negative fecal test, then the manufacturer may help cover the cost of treatment!

This past Saturday the GAH gals got together to have some fun! We work better when we work together and sometimes a little time away from the office helps with team cohesion.
• The first stop on our journey was to the Wild Puzzle Escape Room @escaperoomdaytona. We made it out with 8 minutes to spare and only needed a couple hints! 😉 The escape room was no easy task so make sure to bring your smartest friend when you go. LOL
• Later that evening we went to the Iron Axe Bar & Grill @ironaxebar for some axe throwing fun. Watch our video to the end to see Dr. Wolfe’s victory dance post bullseye!

On August 1st some of the GAH gals took a field trip up to Jacksonville to learn about CPR from Dr. Aumann hosted by @bluepearljax. We learned about how to assess if CPR is necessary, the different CPR methods for animals of different sizes, and we practiced giving rhythmic chest compressions!
Preparation for the unexpected will only help us better serve your pets! 🐶🐈
