SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Kassidy Lang

Hi! My name is Kassidy and I am a senior Animal and Veterinary Science major with a pre-veterinary concentration. I have participated in MAC since Fall of my freshman year and have taken leadership roles throughout my time in the club. I was the Social Media Chair my sophomore year, Vice President my junior year, and I am finishing my senior year as the President. I have enjoyed many parts of the club but working with the members to host events, go to NESA, and work their heifers in the Royal are my favorite. Although I will greatly miss the people and animals I have encountered during my time here, I will be forever thankful for the memories and the friendships I've made along the way. I will be continuing my education at Lincoln Memorial University’s College of Veterinary Medicine where I plan to specialize in large animal medicine. I wish the best of luck to everyone next year and in all of your future endeavors, you guys are going to do great things!

Hey everyone, my name is Cassie! I’m a Biology major with a concentration in Ecology. This was actually my first year in MAC, and I loved it so much! I wish I got involved much earlier in my undergraduate career! Outside of school, I love spending time outside either through hiking, fishing, or spending time at my extended family’s farms. I also love to just hangout at home with my cats too! My favorite memory from MAC was the Royal. It was my first time showing a heifer before, and it was so much fun! I will miss this club so much, and I’m so thankful for the friends and memories I made in the year I was involved!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Abby Adams

Hi everyone! My name is Abby and I am a senior Animal Science student. I have been in MAC all four years of college and I’ve been the Treasurer for the past two years. Outside of school, I work at a veterinary clinic, go on walks with my dog Frankie, and enjoy doing anything outdoorsy! My favorite MAC memory was participating in the Maine Day parade two years ago, riding in the back of the farm truck around campus and blasting country music. I will miss the club and everyone in it dearly!!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Natalie Domin

Hi everyone! My name is Natalie. I am an animal and veterinary science major with a pre-vet concentration. I have been in MAC all four years of my college career and have loved every minute! This past year I was the NESA and Event chair and helped get the club ready for the NESA competition where we competed in judging, quizbowl, and presentations against many schools in the North East. Outside of school I enjoy riding my horse Bear, going on adventures with my dog Ryder, and working with my sheep! My favorite memory from my time in MAC is now getting to train the daughter of the cow I worked with my freshman year for the royal! Their names are Ducky and Deborah!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Lindsay Mathews

Hi! My name is Lindsay and I'm an animal science major with a minor in aquaculture. I've been a part of MAC for all four years of school, I was the historian for two years before upgrading to secretary for this year. I came to Maine from Central New York never having been near large animals before and now I couldn't imagine not being involved with them! My favourite thing from my time in MAC is all of the friends I've made and getting to hang out with them and the cows! Next year I'll be returning to New York to work as a zookeeper!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Jocelyn Childers

Hi there! I am an Animal and Veterinary science major on a Pre-vet concentration, I've held both Secretary and Vice President positions in the club. I am planning on attending vet school and am thinking of doing mixed practice or emergency medicine. MAC has had a ton of fun and memorable moments for me, but one that really stands out is being able to attend NESA for the first time as a competitor, and ending up placing in the top three with my presentation. I'm truly grateful to have been a part of MAC since my freshman year, and being able to work with all the animals at Witter.

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Sommer Thompson

I am majoring in Wildlife Ecology and this is my fourth year being a Maine Animal Club member! During my time here, I have made some wonderful friends and joining the club was the best decision I made in my undergraduate career. My favorite memory of MAC is training and bonding with my cow, Potsticker, for the Royal. A little about me is that I love the outdoors and hope to one day own my own farm raising deer for venison and antler products. One fun fact is that I love drawing portraits of pets and have been commissioned a few times!

SENIOR SPOTLIGHT: Katy Henderson

Hi, my name is Katy Henderson and I have been in Maine Animal Club since I was a freshman. I am a pre-vet major and I am going to be attending a vet school in the fall. My favorite hobby is skiing during the winter and fishing during the summer. During my time in MAC, I was the social media chair last year and my favorite memory was when I trained my first-ever heifer for the spring Royal that the club hosts. I trained her almost every day and we won first place.
