Hightest has recently had the greatest privilege of training our very first hearing alert service dog!

Meet Laura and her service dog Jolene!
Laura is 3 years old and hearing impaired. When she feels shy or anxious she hides and cannot hear her family well when called. Our trainer Anna has trained Jolene for the past few months to track Laura’s scent and follow her when she hides.
Jolene has been successful in finding Laura multiple times since being home! She has also given confidence and reassurance to Laura and her family. Great job to Jolene and her trainer Anna!🐾🦮

“We’ve been taking Jolene places we normally go. We took her to the zoo where we go a couple times a month. She would whine when she couldn’t see Laura. Laura has never once gotten out of the stroller at the zoo until today.
At Target, Laura went into a clothing rack to hide and Jolene dragged me to follow Laura before Laura could go out of sight.
On Tuesday the UC Davis mind institute recommended we put a tracker on Laura but with Jolene we don’t have to. Thank you!! Jolene is doing absolutely amazing.”

Meet Ario, a young Boxer currently in our 4 week residential obedience program!

Ario is learning basic commands including here, heel, sit, down, place, and stay. Our 4 week training program is short and focuses on teaching your dog how to respond to basic commands on leash only. This is the prefect program for young dogs not quite ready for e-collar conditioning.

Ryder is here for boarding while his dad is on a hunting trip! He’s having tons of fun playing and retrieving in our ponds.
Ryder is out of our stud Hank and dam Muddy, born August 2017.

Coffee is an amazing dog and was very fun to work with! She was placed with her handler a few months after this was taken. She has now been in North Carolina as a fully trained Diabetic Alert service dog for the past 4 years!

Coffee is an example of an extremely driven dog. She was out swimming & had every distraction under the sun calling her name this afternoon, but as soon as she caught a whiff of her future handler’s low glucose level, she knew what to do. At this point in training we are increasing Coffee’s distractions & distance away from a sample of low glucose level.

Today we remember more than 300 dogs worked tirelessly in the wreckage of the most devastating terrorist attack on American soil.
Search and rescue, police k-9’s, detection k-9’s, therapy dogs and many more. We thank them and their handlers for their dedication and bravery. 🐾

Our four month old Catch x Bella pups are working our Head Start Hunt Program. All three boys have strong drive on land and in the water. They’ve been introduced to the gun and are retrieving birds and bumpers. Ask for a video for any of our started pups if you’d like to see these little ones in action!!
