We would like to inform you of a recent coughing outbreak we have noticed in the surrounding areas. Please be advised if your dog attends any daycare, boarding facility, or grooming there are potential risks that come with communal dog areas. Although we require pups to be up to date on the required vaccines this only limits the exposure, there is still potential for your pet to get sick as we cannot vaccinate against all pathogens.
We unfortunately are unable to predict the severity or length this spread will go on for. If any dogs on site show symptoms, we move them to a comfortable area away from other dogs and alert their parents to come pick up as soon as possible. Our staff immediately follows a stringent cleaning, special sanitizing, and disinfecting protocol of the afflicted areas.
In addition, we keep up a very strict sanitation practice as regular protocol, including sanitizing floors twice daily, picking up eliminations immediately, refreshing water bowls frequently, pans of bleach to step in when crossing Daycare and Lodging boundaries and inspecting every dog that enters the facility. Even with our intense cleaning protocols, there is always potential for exposure to viruses, like schoolchildren.
Many vaccinated, healthy and social dogs never show any signs of illness, however, may pass a virus on to another dog. In our effort to keep our community healthy, we depend on our pet parents to keep their furry kids home if they are feeling unwell.
We assure you we are doing everything we can to keep our facility clean and limit exposure.
