🐝 Bee sting? Here’s what to do if your pet gets stung!
1️⃣ Stay calm—and keep your pet calm.
Your pet may be scared or in pain. Speak gently, keep them still, and try to prevent licking or scratching the sting site.
2️⃣ Apply a cold compress.
Use a clean, damp cloth or wrap an ice pack in a towel and apply it to the sting site for 5–10 minutes to reduce swelling and discomfort. Repeat as needed.
3️⃣ Watch for allergic reactions.
Signs include facial swelling, hives, vomiting, diarrhea, drooling, difficulty breathing, or collapse. These can be serious—seek emergency vet care immediately if you see any of these.
4️⃣ Call your vet.
Even if your pet seems okay, stings near the face, mouth, or throat can swell and interfere with breathing. Always call your vet for advice.
⚠️ Don’t give Benadryl or other medications unless your vet tells you exactly what to use and how much.
Stay safe and sting-free out there! 🐶🐱☀️
