✨ The Gift Everyone Actually Wants This Year ✨

Looking for something thoughtful, unique, and guaranteed to make someone smile? Our Bouquet Tickets are officially LIVE!

Each ticket lets your recipient stop by the Blossom Shop this Spring or Summer and pick out a gorgeous, hand-wrapped bouquet—whatever blooms speak to them that day.

And here’s the best part…
When you choose on-farm pickup, it’s basically like getting a BOGO!
You’ll receive a complimentary dried bouquet to gift alongside the tickets. (We don’t ship dried blooms—they’re too delicate!)

Bundle + Save:
• 1 Ticket — $25
• 2 Tickets — $45
• 3 Tickets — $60

These make the sweetest teacher gifts, hostess gifts, or little “thinking of you” surprises. Buy a bundle and gift them individually… and keep a dried bouquet for yourself. 😉

✨ Who’s the first person you’d surprise with a Bouquet Ticket?

Here’s the truth!!! Spring flowers are the MOST expensive flowers to grow. I’ve found they’re also the most unreliable thanks to weather, animals, and timing.
Even still, I find them completely addicting and plant more every single year.
Looks like I’m both a sucker and a glutton for punishment! 🤣

Do you have a favorite spring flower?

Not taking a single moment of life for granted — even the hard ones. Challenges shape us, sharpen us, and remind us that success doesn’t come without a little struggle.

Tag or share with someone who’s overcome a challenge recently—you know they inspire you! Let’s celebrate those who persevere!!!

Spring is my favorite season, but after scrolling through last year’s photos, I realized something—spring beauty is surprisingly hard to capture on camera. Most of the time, we’re harvesting flowers at a closed stage, when there’s only a hint of color showing. It may not make for the most stunning pictures, but it does make for the freshest, longest-lasting bouquets.

One of my favorite things to hear from customers is, “Your flowers always last so long!”
And that’s exactly why knowing the right stage to pick each flower matters—something we teach during our u-pick experiences. Our hope is that whether you pick the flowers or we do, they last beautifully for you!

Have you thought about treating yourself or someone else to one of our spring subscriptions?? Until the end of November, you will also get a complimentary 2026 upick experience with each purchase.

If at first you don't succeed… try, try, try, and try again!

Some flowers feel easy to grow, and others are much more complicated. Have you met the ranunculus? Maybe some folks have an easy time growing them, but NOT me! I keep trying year after year, hoping to produce more stems than just enough for my CSA Spring subscriptions… but unfortunately, I never do. Maybe this is the year I have extra to sell in the Blossom Shop?

It turns out I wasn’t presprouting them correctly. I had always heard to put them in a cold, dark location—except that usually meant they didn’t sprout at all and often rotted. And trust me, they rot easily! You have to find that perfect soil moisture, which I have definitely not mastered. So. Many. Rotted. Corms.
I know I should track their profitability, but honestly… I’m scared to look.

Still, I’m not ready to give up. I truly feel the problem might be grower error. I recently learned from Jenny that ranunculus really need a high tunnel to perform their best, and that placing them under lights speeds up their growth. I moved my trays into our basement grow space over the weekend and—POOF—they exploded! Thanks, Jenny!

At the end of the day, I’m determined to keep going. Some things are worth the extra tries, the learning curves, and even the failures. So here I go again—round who knows what!

Have you ever had something you just refused to give up on? How many tries did it take before you finally saw success?

This is the family that started dreaming about a flower farm in 2020. I can’t pinpoint the exact moment we decided to go for it, or what shifted us from growing flowers for ourselves to wanting to grow for others—but something in that season stirred us.

We were living in a world trying to move past COVID. Masks were still on, fear still lingered, and hearts—ours included—were hurting. My family was navigating the loss of my sister just a little over a year earlier. Life had thrown us some heavy moments, and like everyone else, we had experienced the world shutting down.

My job changed overnight. I went from teaching in a classroom to teaching online, then later returning to school still masked and rotating room to room to limit exposure. We ate lunch alone. Meetings happened only on Zoom. People seemed afraid to talk to each other. Kindness felt rare. It was a strange, lonely time.
Do you remember those days?

And yet, in the middle of all that heaviness, something beautiful grew—a desire to bring people together again through nature and beauty. We knew how much joy flowers and being outside brought us, and we wanted to share that feeling with others. The dream we planned to pursue in retirement suddenly felt urgent and right. We jumped in early, and I’m forever grateful my family supported this all-or-nothing leap.

Now, five seasons later, the kids help a little less as they grow into young adults. Thankfully, we’re all still on the farm—at least for the next two months. In January, Grant will head to Traverse City to continue chasing his pilot career. We’re already planning for next season, knowing it will be time to bring in more help. The two of us simply won’t be enough, and that’s a good thing—it means the dream is still growing.

If you were in charge of designing one row here next season, what would you choose to grow?

I’ve been spending these dark evenings working on my crop plan for next year. While that might sound boring to some, to me it’s incredibly exciting. I get that same childlike joy every time I find a few quiet moments to dive into it. There’s something about starting with a clean slate each year—another chance to grow, to learn, and to improve on the season before. It’s also the hope that maybe, just maybe, something I grow will inspire someone else to plant a little beauty in their own yard.

With every tour, every workshop, and every flower I put into the ground, my goal is to educate and to share that beauty. I hope that anyone who needs it can turn to nature as a resource for emotional well-being. It can be calming, soothing, invigorating, exciting—and simply good for the soul.

We don’t just love flowers here—we love the beautiful soil created with our own leaf mulch. I’m so lucky that Jason actually enjoys making it. If only we didn’t have to clean up all the leaves to get there… that part is definitely not loved.

Since purchasing our leaf shredder three years ago, our soil has improved so much. We still don’t make enough mulch for the whole property, so we rotate the rows and areas that get it each season. Not only does it create rich, healthy soil, but it also helps block weeds. It truly is a farm superstar!

Any questions about caring for your soil over the winter?

One week from tonight, we’ll be releasing our Spring Flower Subscriptions! 🌸

What can you expect by being part of our Spring CSA? As soon as the snow melts and blooms begin to appear, you’ll receive the best of spring every other week — starting with bright daffodils, double peony-like tulips, lupine, ranunculus, and anemones, and ending with late spring beauties like baptisia and peonies.

Today we pulled the last dahlia clump out of the ground and started planting tulips. I was pushing through a cold — lots of sneezing and Kleenex — knowing the temps are dropping and rain (or snow!) is on the way. Do tissues count as compost?! 🤣
Are you ready for snow?
