Sharing because it's very revealing and most people don't remember this. And equally important is that all dogs do not need to play with other dogs, Some dogs aren't permitted to play with other dogs because they are working or being trained for something.

In light of Hurricane Ian, this is a good reminder to train for an emergency.

Remember if your dog won't crate for emergency personnel, they won't likely be saved.

For those afraid of a prong collar, momma's helper collar. It's not for all dogs or all people but for those that need a bit of assistance, it is an option.

EDIT: DUE TO A FANTASTIC OPPORTUNITY TO SHOW MY DOGS AT A SPECIALTY IN CANADA, I HAVE TO CANCEL THIS GROUP CLASS.

I AM TERRIBLY SORRY FOR ANY INCONVENIENCE.

If there is interest we can explore smaller semi private groups or a normal class in september.

New basic obedience class starting Wednesday evening July 20, 2022. There will be 2 time slots offered. Class will be 4 consecutive weeks.

5pm to 6pm

Or

630 to 730pm

Focus will be on public manners, loose leash walking, focusing on the handler.

4 week session is $80. Class will be held in Ortonville village.

Registration on the first night of class. Please provide me your email address to send you a registration form.

As spring and summer approaches we take our loving dogs out in public more.

Something to consider....

I will never understand why people expect dogs to accept a lack of boundaries they themselves would never accept.

Example:

Rude dogs approaching and grabbing a sniff or more of a well behaved dog minding it's own business. As a person you would take offense if I suddenly walked up to you, invading your personal space and sniffing you face.

Exactly point on. Humans tend to be space invaders and then the dog has 3 choices. 1. Do nothing. 2. Retreat. 3. Bite.

Similarly to when a person invades another person's space by being too close. 1. Do nothing. 2. Retreat. 3. Punch them.

Please realize that a harness is not a tool for teaching no pull leash walking. You must put in the time to train. There is no magic potion. Even the so called "no pull" harness has consequences.
