Our power went out overnight and was just now restored. Unfortunately as a result, the Faerie Dog Grooming Salon pipes are frozen and water is currently unavailable.

All appointments today are postponed. I’ll be in touch to reschedule.

Six-year-old English Mastiff Houston was recently in Faerie Dog Grooming Salon for his very own spa day.

This gentle giant was a breeze to work with and I look forward to many more baths and brushes in his future.

Tank the Great Pyraneese was recently in for a full day of pampering (which he did not necessarily enjoy) but he was a solid trooper through it all.

Tank’s a farm dog so he gets into all sorts of cockleburrs, mud, (and skunks). He needs a good cleaning every now and then to keep his coat healthy and maintain his hygiene.

Afterwards, he looked brighter and smelled better (although he was more than ready to go home).

Due to his size, it’s important Tank buys into the process. Lifting him is no easy feat.

Since he isn’t food motivated, it has been a process figuring out Tank’s communication style and reward preference.

Overall, it’s come down to him getting to know me and trusting me to lead him into my car, or into the tub, or onto the grooming table. Nothing could make it happen until he had gotten to know me better. I’m so grateful we’ve gotten to know each other at this point, and I know he’ll get better and better with the process at every appointment.

Thanks for coming in, Tank! We’ll see you again when you’re ready for another bath.

🌟 Introduction Appointments: A Must for Every Dog I Work With 🌟

I believe every dog deserves a positive grooming experience where they feel safe. That’s why I make it compulsory to meet every dog before their first grooming appointment.

These introduction appointments are designed with your dog’s comfort in mind. They allow:

🐾 Me to meet your dog and for your dog to meet me, helping them feel more at ease.

🐾 A chance to assess your dog’s confidence in the grooming environment.

🐾 Time to assess how your dog responds to handling and grooming tools.

🐾 Owners to see how I work and decide if I’m the right groomer for their dog.

🐾 A plan for future appointments based on your dog’s unique needs and comfort levels.

For some dogs, like lovely Evie here (who had a little paw and eye trim and a brush through as part of her introduction), grooming can be part of this assessment process. But for others, things may need to go a bit slower—and that’s okay! We can do as many short introduction appointments as it takes to build their confidence and help them feel safe 💛

Odin was recently in Faerie Dog Grooming Salon for a bath and brush.

We weren’t able to get his nails done (as he does not appreciate that part of the process), but we’re going to circle back and get them during a house call in the near future.

Winter is here at Faerie Dog Grooming Salon and this is a wonderful time of year to review our cancellation policy.

Weather-related cancellations are always welcomed. I never want anyone to come out here if they feel unsafe in the elements. Any weather-related cancellations are automatically forgiven. No matter the season.

Any other cancellations need to be done 48 hours in advance, or you may be subject to a fee in order to rebook your next appointment. When people “no call, no show”, I lose that money that I was counting on for my family. So it’s not to be rude or callous or greedy, it’s simply the most logical way of handling missed appointments. After two missed appointments or two cancelled with less than 48 hours of notice, you risk being dropped from the grooming rotation permanently. I love all of my clients and don’t want to have to do this ever.

Now booking 2025 dog and cat grooming appointments at Faerie Dog Grooming Salon.

Text the number in the photo for a quick response and email vaccination records including current Rabies, Distemper/Parvo, and Bordetella.

For the least amount of back and forth, include in your initial message your pet name, age, breed, weight, date of last groom, and hair style desired.

Pictures of what you like or having notes forwarded from your previous groomer can also make for a smoother experience.

Salon tours can be provided in advance of booking and at no cost. Just reach out for an appointment.

Tucker the dog, 1 year old, is available at SMAS right now. He’s even potty trained. 😇

Tucker is a 1 year old. We are not sure on his breed that is why it is not listed. He came to the shelter as a surrender. Tucker is a very loving easy going dog. He likes to go on walks and visit with the other dogs in the outdoor kennels. Tucker does great with kids of all ages. When we walked him through the cat room he did not seem to care that the cats where even there. Tucker is potty trained.

Faerie Dog Grooming Salon had a first in the salon recently: Lucy the soft-haired Wheaton terrier.

Her regular groomer is out for a little while, so Lucy’s family decided to try out Faerie Dog Grooming Salon.

Lucy was a breeze to work with, and the learning experience for this breed of dog was much appreciated.
