Tucker the dog, 1 year old, is available at SMAS right now. He’s even potty trained. 😇

Tucker is a 1 year old. We are not sure on his breed that is why it is not listed. He came to the shelter as a surrender. Tucker is a very loving easy going dog. He likes to go on walks and visit with the other dogs in the outdoor kennels. Tucker does great with kids of all ages. When we walked him through the cat room he did not seem to care that the cats where even there. Tucker is potty trained.

Faerie Dog Grooming Salon had a first in the salon recently: Lucy the soft-haired Wheaton terrier.

Her regular groomer is out for a little while, so Lucy’s family decided to try out Faerie Dog Grooming Salon.

Lucy was a breeze to work with, and the learning experience for this breed of dog was much appreciated.

Oli (formerly Prince) recently left Stephen Memorial Animal Shelter for his new home and family. As a result, it was time for a thorough bath and brush.

Oli did amazing for the process. You can tell the shelter put a lot of effort into getting him comfortable with bathing. He did NOT however appreciate the blow dryer. So he had to air dry. (We’ll work on that in the future.)

Oli looks to be an Australian Shepherd / Heeler mix. Which may scare away the average person. But his family loves him so much, they don’t mind the wild mix. 🙂

Artful Dodger is a 9 year old domestic shorthair. Was a surrender to the shelter. Really nice guy. Wants pets and attention. Does great with other cats. He has a great personality to go with his dapper looks. If you would like to meet Artful Dodger stop in today. Tue, Wed, Fri Sat 11-4.

Tucker the Corgi recently came in for his first appointment at Faerie Dog Grooming Salon.

Tucker has arthritis in his paws, which causes them to look the way they do. Due to his arthritis, some aspects of grooming (paws and undercarriage) are not as easily accessible.

Luckily, Tucker has been groomed his whole life and loves the process, especially bath time. His bravery towards grooming and adaptability to the process will make future grooms so much easier for us both.

Koda the Great Pyraneese / Akita mix was recently in for her first ever grooming session at Faerie Dog Grooming Salon.

Lovey the Dachshund has her first groom at Faerie Dog Grooming Salon… And boy, does she live up to her name. Sweet and loving, Lovey would much rather curl up with her favorite humans than be groomed. She especially did not like her hind quarters or feet to be touched. Although she was never aggressive, thrashing and mouthing were her way of saying she’s had enough. To encourage a healthy relationship with grooming in the future, we did not force Lovey to undergo anything she deemed to be too much. Due to this, her paws, claws, and undercarriage are a bit shaggier than the rest of her haircut. Often times, it is better to build the relationship of trust with a dog rather than brute force something on them that they aren’t ready for. Although the outcome may not be picture perfect, there is room to grow for perfection in the future, all while growing a healthy relationship towards grooming for Lovey, which will ultimately help her to lead a less fearful and more happy life. Faerie Dog Grooming Salon practices cooperative-care with all pets. We believe that consent-based grooming is the right path for us and the many pets that walk through our doors each day. Ellie the short-haired German Shepherd gets a deshed bath and brush at Faerie Dog Grooming Salon. Ellie didn’t much care for the process, especially the blow dryer, but these things can take time for some dogs. We cut her blow dry short to accomodate and did a lot of kennel drying before pick up.
