Chip is ready for his close up! 📸

Chip is a gentle giant, who has quickly become a shelter favorite! He was unfortunately found out running with another dog during the coldest part of January. Chip had frostbite on all 4 of his feet and his nose and was very skinny when he came to us.

Chip loves food, treats, and humans. We would recommend only older kids, because of his size. Chip is dog selective while in the shelter, and has also tried to chase cats. He has a very high prey drive. In his previous life, he lived outdoors tied to a tree, but he is doing very well keeping a clean kennel while here in the shelter. He loves to push and rub his head into his human friends so they can pet him forever. He does great walking on a leash and knows a few commands!

Chip is neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and heartworm negative.

It’s puppy time! We currently have 6 puppies available for adoption at GHHS! They range from small to medium breed, and are all fixed, given age appropriate shots, and microchipped!

Have you ever seen a cuter pair of besties? 🥰

Peeta Ma Lard and his bestie Bob Meowly are a bonded pair who are also long term residents of our shelter! Peeta came to us 1/17/24 and is a SENIOR CAT, and Bob came to us 3/21/24.

Both of these kitties are laid back, and prefer a quiet lifestyle. They will make great lap kitties, and as long as they have a big enough bed to share, they will make great companions!

These kitties are part of our Wallflower Program, and need a home without dogs. They are both kid friendly.

Bob and Peeta are both neutered, up to date on vaccines, microchipped, and FeLv-FIV negative.

Clawsuit is one of our long term resident kitties who is looking for a furever home!

Clawsuit got her name because she was NOT happy to be here at first. We said maybe she was going to sue us for keeping her in a kennel, even though we were saving her from running around on a highway!
This now beautiful gray-blue cat is about a year old. but we had to work to get her here! She was covered in bald spots and scabs, and was obviously road-weary.

After being here a couple of months, she is not AS MUCH of a grouch, but she does have her moments. She loves wet food, treats, and naps on big fluffy beds.

Clawsuit is an independent gal- she is often in her own little world, but is still pretty affectionate! Due to her nature, we’d recommend a home without small children who can respect her boundaries. She is cat and dog selective.

Clawsuit is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all of her vaccinations, and tested negative for Feline Leukemia and FIV.

We think Zora is one of the prettiest house hippos we ever did see! 🦛😍

Zora came to us in April from a cruelty/neglect situation, and she was emaciated and in rough shape. That did not keep her from being a normal sweet pittie who loves to sit directly in your lap and give kisses, and get b***y scratches. She has learned about toys since getting to our shelter, and seems to like playing with tennis balls the best.

Zora is always happy to see people, even though she had a rough start in life. She is always sweet to humans of all ages and sizes, but she struggles to try to live with another dog or cat. She is kid friendly, but needs to be the only pet in the home.

Zora is spayed, microchipped, up to date on her vaccinations, and tested negative for heartworm.

Alazay is ready for some belly rubs AND a furver home! He is now officially our LONGEST RESIDENT now that Padme has been adopted- he’s been in our care since 10/25/23- almost a whole year!

Alazay is a SENIOR DOG! He is kid friendly, and dog selective. He would prefer a cat free home.
