Dear Clients and Friends of Honegger Animal Clinic,
We regret to inform everyone that Dr. Ricks will be leaving our clinic, with her last day being next Friday, June 28. While this change is sudden, we are committed to ensuring a smooth transition for all of our clients and their pets.
We want to assure you that our clinic remains dedicated to providing the highest level of care for your pets. While we will have a veterinarian available on some days of the week, we will need to adjust our business hours until we have a new full-time veterinarian. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this transition.
If you have any appointments scheduled with Dr. Ricks after June 28, we will be contacting you to reschedule with another member of our veterinary team.

With summer festivities kicking off, we want to remind you about the symptoms of heatstroke and prevention tips:
-Never leave your pet unattended in a car
-When hot/humid, keep your pet’s time outdoors limited
-Keep your pet hydrated
-Ensure your pet has ventilation and a cool environment
-Dogs with short noses are at higher risk due to their condensed facial anatomy and restricted ability to cool themselves
-If any signs of heat stroke appear, contact our team immediately.

A**l glands are located on the rear of dogs and cats. The glands produce an oily, fishy-smelling fluid that helps with scent marking. Sometimes these glands can get impacted or infected.

Accumulated from excessive grooming, hairballs can build in your cat’s digestive system and either get coughed up or in some cases, need surgical removal.
If your cat is excessively vomiting, lethargic, loses their appetite, or has diarrhea or constipation, these may be signs of a blockage and you should contact our team immediately.
