Hey, you may have seen this petition going around from an animal group on Facebook. They’re using fear and buzzwords to push mandatory pet vaccinations, which can be alarming. If you come across this petition, please do your own research and know we are here to help guide you. We also want to share what we actually do and why. We titer test our pets to check their immunity, and with any vaccine, we carefully weigh the risks versus the benefits before proceeding preventing over vaccination. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by all the confusing information out there, don’t hesitate to reach out to either of us happy to help!

Many pet owners choose titer testing, which measures the level of antibodies in an animal’s blood to determine immunity, rather than automatically revaccinating. Titer testing can confirm if a pet already has sufficient immunity, reducing the need for repeated vaccs that may be unnecessary. Some pets may have reactions to vaccs ranging from mild side effects to more severe complications. It’s important for pet guardians and veterinarians to assess the specific needs of the animal rather than mandating vaccs for all, especially when non-core vaccs are involved.

Just like in human medicine, pets should receive personalized healthcare. Mandatory vaccinations fail to account for differences in individual health, age, lifestyle, and risk factors. Some pets may not need certain vaccines, and forcing a “one-size-fits-all” approach can lead to adverse reactions or health issues in some animals.

When I see an animal, I don’t just see a cat, dog, or horse—I see a conscious, sentient being that shares this planet with us. They’re not here to serve us; rather, they are our equals, deserving of respect and care. TTouch, or Tellington TTouch, is a gentle yet profound technique that uses soft touch and circular movements to support both physical and emotional well-being. I’ve found 𝙏𝙏𝙤𝙪𝙘𝙝 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙞𝙣𝙘𝙧𝙚𝙙𝙞𝙗𝙡𝙮 𝙚𝙛𝙛𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙞𝙫𝙚, 𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙞𝙖𝙡𝙡𝙮 𝙞𝙣 𝙝𝙚𝙡𝙥𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙢𝙖𝙡𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙖𝙧𝙚 𝙛𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙛𝙪𝙡, 𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙, 𝙤𝙧 𝙞𝙣 𝙖 𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙙𝙞𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙨. By fostering a deep sense of trust and promoting relaxation, TTouch can transform the way animals experience their world.

I’ve seen remarkable results with TTouch, especially with dogs and horses that respond well to gentle touch. I used TTouch to calm a neighbor’s horse that was terrified after a tree crashed into her barn. The transformation was truly moving. First the eyes relaxed, then I saw her licking and yawning, and I knew she was coming back into her body.

I also used TTouch in combination with EFT and Reiki to help my own dog, Wishbone. 𝙃𝙚 𝙬𝙖𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙚𝙥𝙡𝙮 𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙪𝙢𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙯𝙚𝙙 𝙗𝙮 𝙡𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙖 𝙡𝙚𝙜 in a hurricane, and this trauma left him with a severe fear of thunderstorms and barometric pressure changes. Living in the subtropics during the rainy season, this fear often led to daily catatonic states.

𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐬𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐮𝐦𝐚, it’s crucial to approach healing from multiple angles and using various tools. I still occasionally perform "tune-ups" to help him manage his anxiety. Patience is key in this process. We must create a safe space for our pets to heal, allowing them to do so at their own pace without any pressure. 🌟🐶

TTouch is particularly beneficial for addressing anxiety and trauma induced behavioral issues, improving communication between pets and their caregivers, and enhancing overall confidence. It’s a powerful tool for calming the mind and soothing the spirit, helping your pet find peace and healing after traumatic events.

🐾💫 EFT, or Emotional Freedom Techniques—commonly known as tapping—is a powerful tool for both animals and humans to release emotional blockages, reduce anxiety, and promote healing. By combining acupressure with psychological techniques, EFT involves tapping on specific meridian points while focusing on distressing emotions. This process helps to release trapped energy, allowing emotional and even physical issues to resolve more naturally.

"THIS IS THE ONLY PIC I HAVE"

✨ You know how sometimes things just align perfectly? That's exactly what happened when John reached out about connecting with his beloved dog, Champ, who had recently crossed the Rainbow Bridge. 🌈

At first, I wasn't sure if I would be able to connect. The only photo John had was blurry and damaged, and I use pictures to connect with animals. I thought we might struggle, but boy, was I wrong! Champ's presence came through so powerfully, it blew me away. 🐕💖
During our session, I saw Champ howling on a cliff, like a wolf. John was stunned because Champ was named after a real wolf! 🐺

Other symbols held great significance for John, like Champ on a rocky cliff wearing a special Tibetan scarf, his favorite blue swimming pool, and a peaceful spot at a park near a lake. Each detail resonated deeply, confirming their unbreakable bond. 💕

What really stuck with me was John's words after our session: "I was worried about where he was and if he was happy. But now I know he is. He is still with me." That moment of relief and joy in John's voice? Profoundly moving. 💖

The sweetest part? Champ's final message: "John was my rock." A beautiful affirmation of their connection. 💕

These moments remind me why I do this work - helping people find peace, knowing their sweeties are still with them in spirit.

Happy Caturday! 🐾

Cats are experts at setting boundaries, and they do it in their own unique ways. Whether it’s a hiss, a swat, or just a sudden retreat, these signals are their way of saying, “I need space.” It’s their way of communicating when they’ve had enough.

Sometimes, we might feel a bit put off by their methods, but it’s important to understand that these reactions are just part of how they let us know their limits. By paying attention to these cues and respecting their boundaries. We can learn a lot about how to honor our own boundaries from our feline family.

Let’s use this Caturday to appreciate how our feline friends teach us about setting and respecting boundaries—both theirs and our own. 🐱💜

Reiki for Your Pets?

As an Usui Reiki Master, I’ve seen firsthand how Reiki, can work wonders for both people and animals. Reiki is all about channeling universal life energy through the hands to help promote healing and balance. Reiki involves channeling universal life energy through the hands to help promote healing and balance.

For humans, Reiki often involves touch, but many animals, especially those who are anxious, stressed, or nearing the end of life, can find this direct contact overwhelming. For instance, I’ve worked with anxious dogs who tremble at loud noises or stressed cats who hide when guests arrive. I’ve also supported animals in their final stages, providing comfort and easing their transition.

When I first used Reiki with my own cats, I noticed they became uncomfortable with hands-on sessions. Instead of pushing them to stay, I adapted by offering distance Reiki. This method lets me send healing energy without needing to be physically present, which many animals find much more soothing.

Reiki works by calming the parasympathetic nervous system, helping pets relax into a state of rest and digest. This is especially beneficial for pets dealing with stress or end-of-life issues, as it promotes a sense of calm and comfort during challenging times.

I originally started Calming Creek in 2022, as a Reiki practice to help pets reduce stress, ease pain, and improve their overall well-being. Whether it’s in-person or remote, hands-on or hands-off, Reiki is a gentle and effective way to support your pet’s health.
