We are back at the barn and into the full swing of things!!! We are fully booked for lessons this week, and will possibly open up Saturday if there is interest. Please book next weeks lessons as soon as possible. I normally only book week to week but let’s start booking out because the week of the 14 and the week of the 21 we will only be available Monday-Wednesday! So let’s get everyone booked and lessons in. Additionally, we will be having the barn Halloween party on November 2. This is a free event and open to anyone and everyone. There will be a little riding competition for current students. I will have a flyer for this soon!
Young cowgirl
Check out this young cowgirl! She is doing great. Today was her second lesson and we really worked on steering today. Guess how old she is! She’s not even 4 years old!!! I am betting we will see her competing in peewee barrels very soon
Brooks is a barn favorite! And we are excited to say… he’s going to stay!!
The girls learned some team work and speed control tonight! They did great!
Wow! Look at Brooks! Brooks is showing great potential to be a great barrel horse. He would make an excellent youth horse. He is for sale.
Dolly
Wow! Look at 3 year old Dolly. She’s been in for training since June 2. She had her first handful of rides by another great trainer when we took over her training. Dolly has been progressing so incredibly in this short time. Today was her first off property ride with us and first trail ride. She rode like a champ. She didn’t blink at anything. I am so over the moon and proud of her. Amy, you have such and incredible horse.
Izzy and I laid down a great run tonight at the Ottawa rodeo. We even got our first rodeo check! We got fourth tonight out of some salty horses. I’m so thankful for her 🥰
Desensitizing
Even though it’s not the Fourth of July yet we still had a lot of fireworks tonight! It’s some of the best desensitizing we can do with the young ones. I got to ride Dolly tonight while some rather big ones went off and she didn’t bat an eye!
Tonight’s run at 4 Rocks
We had a great night at 4 Rocks Arena. Last minute made the trip to get one more run in before the rodeo this weekend. Izzy and her horse Seven had two smoking runs and got second in the 2D in the open. My horse, Im So Izzy and I had a great run in the open as well. We have some things to work on but overall happy with the night!
This weekend there is a Big Hat Rodeo Co. rodeo in Yorkville IL that Izzy and I will be running at Saturday night. The rodeo is Friday, Saturday and Sunday; but we will only be there Saturday if you would like to come and watch. It is a good family event as well! Let us know if you are coming so we can say hi!
Lesson today
Another lesson we did today! Today V. Learned how to do posting trot. She did amazing!
I’m so Izzy
We had an amazing weekend last week! It was my first runs on Izzy. Friday we were figuring each other out and Saturday we went in to work. We ended up winning the third division. I can’t wait for our future together
Out on the trail today with training horsea Leroy and goose and sale horse Koe at Hoover Forest Preserve
