Happy Adoption Day to Cocoa the Coatimundi! 🎉Cocoa has been with us for a whole year already - her favorite things to do include going on walks, eating tortilla chips, and cuddling up in your lap after a long day of bothering Cosmo 😅

Cocoa will be joining us at the State Fair August 23rd - September 2nd make sure to stop by our tent and wish her a belated Adoption Day!

Introducing our newest ambassador insect Mandy the Millipede! Mandy is a Giant African Millipede who will be making her debut August 23rd at the Great New York State Fair.

First I want to share, I know there are people who can say they have had more but I wanted to share that I went back and counted then number of calls today for Wildlife rehab that I got today and the count we 63 (as of 8:18pm).
Of which I feel awful that I could only help out with a very few of them. Most were bird which we are not allow to work with, and many were still young enought that they require more care then we can give at this time.
I share this as I know there are many of you out there who are finding animals that need help and I am sorry if you are trying to find some one who can help but feel like it is always a dead end
There are also some, who are trying to help animals who don't need our help. Please, before you take animals in and try to help it make sure that infact it needs help. Some of the calls today were people trying to help but doing the oposit.

What's better than enrichment for breakfast?

Our Coatimundis enjoying some mealworm enrichment, in the wild these guys would naturally eat insects using their nails and special noses to dig up grub! 🐛

Ever wonder how our Silver Foxes get their medicine every month? Just like a treat! Luckily Ember and Luna like the taste, they receive Nexgard and Heartgard as monthly preventatives since their enclosures are outside. Nexgard helps to prevent fleas and ticks and Heartgard helps to prevent heartworm disease 💟

Wow did our Coatimundis luck out today 😍 Thank you so much to Caitlyn Prosser for sponsoring not 1, not 2, but all 3 of our Coatimundis for the month of January, making this exercise wheel possible! This festive donation came all the way from New Hampshire! One for each of our Coatis - Cocoa was the first to investigate before Cosmo and Wanda ventured over - Happy Spooky Season to everyone!

Fresh homegrown sunflowers are a delicacy for our animals, Rose is enjoying hers in this nice fall weather. You can stop in and say Hi to Rose this weekend at Ontario Orchards Fall Jamboree Saturday and Sunday rain or shine! Thanks for the donations Billy Sullivan!

Cocoa is loving the new jungle gym, did you know Coatimundis have long claws which help them to climb and dig for insects? In the wild their main protein sources are insects, small rodents, and amphibians!
