Our second new friend joining from CNYSPCA is Graham Theodore. Graham was born and has lived his entire short life in the shelter. Graham's pregnant mom was tied up and abandoned at a post office and gave birth at the shelter. Graham has been very clean in his kennel and is a very smart baby who is so much fun to be around. Graham is just shy of 5 months of age and is neutered and up to date on his vaccinations. Graham will also be seeing the veterinarian tomorrow for a good check up and hopefully the all clear to find his forever home. We are so happy to have you with us Graham!

Our first new friend joined us yesterday from CNYSPCA. They are dealing with a cruelty case of over 30 dogs and they needed help. Wth the arrival of the new kennels we were happy to help even in a small way. Eugene is believed to be 10 years old and has some pretty gnarly looking skin. No worries though he will be seen by the veterinarian tomorrow. Eugene has been a wonderful boy and deserves the best from here on out and that's exactly what he will get. Welcome Eugene(Gene) we love you so much already!

The past thirty three hours have been a whirlwind of events. We are so very fortunate to have people who will drop everything they are doing and come help us for anything we need supporting us. We will start with the new kennels that were delivered yesterday with only 45 minute notice :). The kennels were assembled and ready to use within a couple of hours.These are the kennels we were able to purchase with the grant from The Shineman Foundation we received. Just in time for a couple of additions to the PAOC family yesterday early afternoon. Thank you to the Shineman Fund for granting us the funds to purchase the kennels and sooo many thanks to those who came out to unload and assemble these beauties!

And last but certainly not least is miss Parker. You may remember Parker came to us with a nasty botfly wound. She was loaded in fleas and skinny. Today she is feeling like a butterfly ready to take flight. Well we have good news Parker you will be ready to fly the coup soon as you are almost 2 pounds now and can get your vaccinations soon! And there is a family waiting for you! Happy halloween from all of us at PAOC!

While we don't usually share the dire situation animal rescue is in right now but the harsh reality need to be told. In the past 24 hours the need for placement for 29 owned dogs. 22 in one home from 6 weeks of age to 7 months and adults. 7 puppies that have nowhere to go and have to be gone in 2 days per the owner, and if noone can take them what happens? Do we want to know? A local shelter who legally had to take in over 30 dogs in a cruelty case with no space for them so we know what happens then to make space? PAOC would love to help but we need help ourselves to make that happen. We need volunteers!! Desperately at this point! Every rescue is full and trying to squeeze more in, every shelter is full and euthanasia is imminent. These are not failures in the part of the rescues and especially the shelters but instead failures on the irresponsible owners and abusers. Do you have an hour or more to help save a life? Please please please help us save these dogs! We need volunteers to care for the dogs!

Lisa is unsure which costume she should choose. Lisa is hoping to have a home soon. She was such a wonderful mom to her 9 babies who have all moved on and now it's her turn to finally have a family who will love and care for her for the rest of her life.. and she sure deserves it. Beautiful Dutchess. Dutchess is Duke's littermate but the cruelty inflicted on her is opposite Duke. Dutchess was chained outside where she was alone and scared every minute of her life. Dutchess is a very gentle girl who desires nothing more than to be shown compassion and caring. Dutchess is around 40 pounds, the perfect size! Dutchess is also working on manners and is mastering them quickly. Dutchess melts into your lap every second she can. We are certain she is going to be a fantastic family member and we cannot wait to see her flourish in a loving home. Dutchess is spayed, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm preventative and flea/tick prevention.

The goofy faces of Duke. This guy is the perfect size. 40 pounds of silly antics that are sure to bring light to your life. Duke is a young chap at 9 months of age. Duke has left behind the cruel beginning he suffered by being kept in a crate his whole life and is waiting for someone to give him a chance. Duke very smart, fast learning guy who is eager to please. He has come so far in a short period of time and we have no doubt that he will make a family very happy. Duke is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm preventative, flea/tick preventative.

Al has had a couple of rough days. Yesterday repeat xrays were performed on Aladdin and revealed that he is still fighting pneumonia with secondary bacterial infection and rhinitis/sinusitis. Al now has a humidifier in his room to hopefully break up his congestion as well as an antibiotic change.
Yesterday he received oxygen therapy until a new nebulizer arrives hopefully today. Therapeutic laser treatment of both lungs which will continue at least every other day for several treatments, sinus massage, which he LOVES, and lung coupage. We will continue to fight right beside him supporting him and the veterinarian team.
Thank you so much to Dr. Danielle for taking Al home for the weekend to observe and treat him. We are certain he is loving it! Please help us help Al, every dollar matters.

Mouse ADOPTED. Yes he went back to his original family due to the length of time he was unclaimed their ownership was not valid with NYS therefore we needed to do an adoption.

Update on Mouse. Mouse's family has been located and he has returned to the only home he has known since he was a puppy. We will miss him so very much but thrilled for him and his family. Please no negative comments.

Momma Lisa is all dressed up for halloween. Lisa is still waiting for her forever home

We have a wonderful update on sweet boy Cooper! He had a follow up appointment with the vet in Ithaca. They did blood work and an exam. They will let me The vet was pleased with his progress. He weighs 24 pounds now!! He gained 3 since his last visit. He is getting aloe vera once a day in his water and this has drastically reduced his regurgitation. He has come a long way!

And the winners of the puppy board are...

Announcing the arrival of Lisa's adorable babies! Lisa safely delivered 9 babies in 3 hours. Unfortunately, one surprise puppy was born with angel wings a short time after the others. Lisa is providing exceptional care for her newborns and we are extremely proud of her. Huge thanks to Rhonda whom is a vet tech for spending a majority of her day with Lisa and delivering the babies. Puppy board results coming soon!

Sorry for the repost but we had a little technical issue with the first video. Momma Lisa was treated to a photo shoot and we had to share the photos. Lisa is the sweetest girl and we just love her so much! Lisa's board is filling up but there are still squares open. Please consider supporting Lisa and all of the things babies need.
